The Company:

Our client is a transnational group with operations mainly in Asia and Africa. Set up over 50 years ago, the company mainly operates in FMCG, White Goods, Power equipment and Automotive products. A highly focused and profitable operation, the company is currently in the process of expanding their international footprint, simultaneously moving some critical activities and functions to India.

The Job:

The company is seeking to identify a senior level professional to head and manage their international Supply Chain operations. Reporting to the Group MD, the role will be responsible for the entire gamut of activities from planning, procurement and vendor management to Logistics, distribution and customer delivery across the global operation. In addition, you will be tasked with systematizing supply chain processes and seamlessly integrating all parts of the supply chain for efficient and cost-effective delivery. Located at Mumbai, you will have a multi-country team reporting into the position.

Key Aspect of the responsibility will include :

- Planned procurement across sources from countries in Asia and Africa

- Logistics planning and execution from raw material origination to finished goods destination

- Vendor management of standardized products and supply management of commodities

- Reducing inventory cycle time through efficient planning and management of shipment sources

- Implementing a company-wide, integrated, IT driven SCM process

Your Profile:

You must be an MBA, preferably with specialized qualifications in Supply chain/Operations/Manufacturing and 15-20 years of experience, of which at least 5 years must be as the head of an operation that oversees a multi-country supply chain.

Key experience areas include :

- Built supplier relationships & Vendor Management

- Making business deals and developing effective contracts with product suppliers / logistics partners, including Chinese SE Asian and Indian vendors

- Leading large-scale enterprise transformation operations for a business division

- Leading a distributed procurement team in multiple countries and locations

- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution

- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

- Experience in forecasting and planning of products across multiple countries

- Demonstrated leadership of a geographically distributed team of professionals

The role will require frequent travel to the company's various locations to get hands-on understanding and interact with the team, vendors and customers. Future growth opportunities will entail setting up product lines from scratch and taking them to operational efficiency.
