Head - Supply Chain - Manufacturing Firm

We are looking for a Supply chain specialist / Purchase/Procurement head with one of our Electric Vehicle (EV) Manufacturing company,

Electrical Sourcing

Position: Associate Director

Key Result Areas / Core Responsibilities (Accountability & Responsibility of the Role):

1. Manage purchasing activities for the following electrical parts -Lighting System (Headlamps, Tail Lamps, Fog Lamps, Indicators, Reverse Lamps, Licence Plate Lamps, Centrally High Mounted Stop Lamps, Daytime Running Lamps),Wiring harness (Low Voltage Wiring, High Voltage Wiring & Relay Assemblies),Switches, Locks & Actuators, Wiping System (Wiper Motors, Linkages, Arms & Blades),Instrument Clusters,DC-DC Converters, On-Board & Off-Board Chargers and Fast Charging Connectors

2. Purchasing activities include RFQs, Quote Comparisons, Should Costing, Negotiations for Part Prices as well as Tooling & Development Costs.

3. Should have a deep & thorough knowledge & experience in:

- Lighting System Development & Industrialization including Tooling Development, Manufacturing & Assembly Processes, Fixtures, Gauges, Testing & Validation and Homologation requirements

- Wiring Harness

- Connection Systems, Wires & Cables, good contacts with Tier 2 sources of Wiring Harness such as Tyco, Molex, KET, Malhotra Cables, etc

- Switches & Locks - Design/Development, Manufacturing & Assembly Processes

- All other parts - Design/Development, Manufacturing & Assembly Processes, Tier 2 supplier base contacts, good experience of Electronic parts such as Semiconductors

- PCBs & SMT Process

4. Experience in handling Multi-National Suppliers and Domestic Suppliers including MSMEs & Tier 2 Suppliers

5. Should be well-versed in assessing suppliers for the following:

6. Suppliers' Technical & Business Capabilities

7. Capacity Assessment & Analysis

8. Quality Management Systems

9. Should have hands-on experience of SAP

10. Should collaborate with different functions within the organization, such as Engineering, Quality, Finance & Program Management

Critical / Mandatory Experience:

1. Understanding of the technological landscape, latest trends and technologies

2. Excellent technological knowledge within the automotive sector

3. Excellent supplier relationship management and negotiation skills

4. Deep knowledge of all aspects of procurement management - including sourcing, commercial negotiation, supplier management and global sourcing

5. Procurement experience for automotive firm with focus on EV or hybrid

6. Large network with suppliers, both domestic as well as international

7. Experience with managing international suppliers is a plus (China, India and SE Asia preferred)

Key Qualification & Skills Required:

1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field

2. MBA is a plus but not a requirement

3. 15 years experience in automotive procurement management

4. MRP/ ERP Systems such as SAP or Ariba.
