Head Supply Chain (Electronics Domain is a MUST)
Job Purpose:
Responsible for production planning and scheduling, and logistics management to ensure on-time fulfillment of customer requirements. Participate in supplier management for high quality of parts and schedule adherence. Manage inventory and implement ways of optimizing inventory levels and costs
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Functional Planning:- Responsible for capacity planning, warehousing and control of materials from receipt of replenishment needs from customers to the delivery of finished goods to customers
- Tracking and reporting of key metrics - actual vs planned production, daily sales, inventory levels, dispatch plans, ensure procurement activities mirror actual requirements
- Partner with plant and corporate teams to manage suppliers, ensuring part quality, schedule adherence, cost effectiveness; collaborate with corporate commodity buyer on supplier rate amendment and maintaining the agreed supplier share of business
- Ensure customer schedule requirements are achieved on time and in full; point of contact for customer production schedule, delivery schedule
- Manage schedule changes, and respond to quality issues
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify cause of dip in daily sales, determine resolution and implement change
2. Production Planning and Control:- Lead production scheduling and planning based on production schedule received by the customer
- Create monthly, weekly and daily production schedule to ensure adherence to customer requirements
- Review daily planned vs. actual production, analyze reasons for low production and lead course correction to prevent impact to the customer
3. Materials & Logistics Management:- Lead end-to-end inwards store and outwards dispatch activities from fetching material to delivery of finished goods to the customer
- Plan and control inventory with the objective of optimizing inventory levels and associated costs while ensuring customer requirements are met
- Provide oversight for mass production change management, including coordinating change in part specifications with suppliers, checking supplier capability and coordinating with the customer
- Rate monthly supplier performance by monitoring and tracking how much supplied as per the given schedule
- Lead import planning of parts and ensure compliance with regulations
4. People development:- Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent across positions within the organization
- Guide and mentor young talent within the organization; motivate and engage them to ensure they leverage their ambition to add value to the organization's goals
MAJOR CHALLENGES:- Frequent changing of schedule by the customer
- Long lead times for manufacturing of electronic parts, leading to high/dead inventory and slow-moving inventory
- Timely communication from the Quality Customer representative to the role to ensure alterations in SCM schedule to handle customer requirements
DECISIONS:- Obtain approval from corporate Commodity Buyer for material cost changes
- Coordinate with corporate Commodity Buyer for PO release
- Escalate to Plant head and BU MP&L in case supplier issues are leading to disruption of customer line
- Escalate to Plant Head in case disruption to production schedule
Educational Qualifications:a) Qualifications: Minimum Qualification required: BE / B.Tech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
b) Work Experience:
- Minimum 15 to 20 years of experience
- Experience of Large Manufacturing sites / Plants with strong Electronics background
- Knowledge of auto-manufacturing environment
- Understanding of supply chain process in auto component manufacturing with experience of handling ~ 2500 components of sourcing
