At present, We are having an urgent opening for Head - Strategic Sourcing, Corporate Contracts & Materials for a Reputed business conglomerate into power & energy based at Noida location.

The company is a reputed EPC company with a yearly turnover of 7000 crores+

Role Summary :

- The position shall lead a team for planning, selecting, procuring and ensuring on-time delivery of material / goods & services and contractors from the market.

- Responsible for development of Contracting & Procurement strategy in line with overall organization strategy. Designing, implementing & monitoring effective Procurement schedule.

- Vendor development, Vendor grading, cost analysis based on zero based costing, finalization of contracts & understanding of Contract.

- Benchmarking Best practices and introducing new methodologies for Procurement, Ultimately, the goal is to maximize value, reduce timeframes and minimize risk for the business

Key accountabilities/ responsibilities :

Procurement for Material and Contractors :

- Collaborate with BU Head/ Head Operations, Head Maintenance & Head Engg.to understand the overhauling of plant requirement purchase requirement and plan for the purchase (including imports) of material, brand, quantity, price, etc. based on the category of the project.

- Negotiate with the vendors the price of the materials as well as the terms and conditions and verify with the Estimation Department on the estimated budget.

- Monitor all procurement operations in order to ensure adherence to the budgeted levels

- Ensure inspection of bulk material by the team on an on-going basis

Vendor Development :

- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the key vendors in order to have an assured supply of quality material on time as well as at the optimum price

- Establish and implement vendor quality improvement plans in order to bring about efficiency and inculcate the concept of ongoing improvement.

- Create a sense of competition amongst the vendors by developing alternate vendors for procurement of material / system / service

- Ensure that the vendor performance audit is conducted on a quarterly / bi-annual / annual basis in line with the defined performance parameters such as delivery, quality, etc.

- Conduct vendor evaluation based on set parameters to determine their ability to provide material / system / service as per Gera standards, within the budgeted cost and timelines.

- Staying updated with market/ regulatory /statutory developments and providing alternate solutions.

- Ensure that the team is updated with new material / technology / systems / service available in the market by encouraging to attend exhibitions / seminars / conferences

- Conduct a cost benefit analysis with the technical team to find alternate and better material / technology / system / service available in the market

- Provide inputs to the management feasible alternatives

- Track new technologies & trends in the domestic & global arena in relation to purchase domain.

Key Functional Skills :

- Vast experience of managing strategic sourcing, technical procurement, procurement process improvement and Supplier Performance Monitoring - Various tools, discipline etc.

- Strong commercial acumen, Contracting and negotiation skills

- Excellent knowledge of SAP procurement platform, MRP Module and hands on with additional digitization imperatives.

- Strong networking, vendor and stakeholder relationship management skills.

- Excellent Forecasting, Planning & analytical skills.

- Knowledge of various government norms/regulations impacting procurement process.

- Business Ethics & Transparency

- In depth knowledge of end to end supply chain processes & related best practices (JIT, JIS, KANBAN etc.)
