We have been mandated for a large global conglomerate is into Automation Business for leadership role in Strategic Sourcing. Head - Strategic Sourcing will be responsible for developing and identifying quality supply base that is able to meet the Client performance expectations including quality, schedule and cost. This organization's primary role is to support margin and trade working capital improvement of the Systems&amp; Service Business by sourcing materials and services from best cost suppliers globally. The incumbent's role is to direct category managers- activities, develop global spend management strategies based upon business volume and historical metrics as well as build consensus among World Area Leaders to aid in the execution of the strategy. Essential functions: - Lead a global team of procurement professionals in developing and managing the supply base for a global Systems and Service Business - Implement cost reduction/avoidance programs, track these programs within the company inflation model, and update at President's Councils and other planning sessions - Promote procurement interests throughout all phases of the Systems bid preparation and project execution - Determine the best supply chain needed to support the Systems Business - Establish good working relationships with Suppliers and establish long term purchasing agreements for global adoption. - Leading effective negotiations on major project buy-outs and establishing &amp; maintaining supplier agreements - Establish Key Performance Indicators (Inventory targets, on-time delivery, quality, cost savings) as a gauge of process effectiveness - Report team progress against established Key Performance Indicator targets - Develop global spend management strategies for materials and services - Achieve global alignment of spend management strategies - Develop and track supplier performance metrics for the Systems supply chain - Lead the process of identifying and qualifying new suppliers as necessary to support the business - Assist in preparing and participating in Commodity and Financial Reviews as it pertains to the Systems business - Managing inventory levels within organizational targets - Lead the Systems Business monthly procurement meetings and establishing monthly spent data consistently across all sites - Establish supply chain standards, processes and procedures to align with Corporate requirements for improved execution. - Communicate and enforce the company Rules for Ethics and Commodity Management - Streamlining procurement processes that are in full compliance with company's Global Compliance policies Education / Experience/ Language skills required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business required, MBA preferred - Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred - Experience in identifying, planning, developing and executing global strategic sourcing strategies - Knowledge of Integrated ERP Systems - Minimum of seven years of experience in purchasing,vendor negotiations, manufacturing, materials - Purchasing experience in oil/water, regulator, or metering systems business environment with strategic responsibility for procurement of buyouts and services preferred - Solid Materials and/or Purchasing, Strategic Procurement Background - Knowledge in a broad range of commodities, including: castings; bar stock; flanges; PWAs; machined parts; stampings; rubber parts; plastic parts; fasteners; and fabrications.
