They should have strong experience in + ability to grow in their team for -
- Software QA process - be a believer in setting the right QA process and abiding by it (Not to the point of it being a religion; but know how much is a must)
- Their team should be able to improve and extend product documentation
- Work collaboratively with other arms of the engineering team that are co-located in other countries
- Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to develop product requirements and innovative solutions
- Strong software development skills such as:experience with a source control system
experience with an issue tracking system
writing and maintaining your own unit tests
experience with the design and development life-cycle
knowledge of debugging and problem-solving methodology, particularly as reported against Production software
- Experience working on a Production (24x7) environment
- Experience with distributed programs or micro-services
- Experience with highly-available and scalable systems
- Previous start-up experience
Technologies we are looking at (And therefore the leader should be expert in at least 1-2 areas, conversant in few others)
- Backend (NodeJS, Python, Java, Spring)
- iOS and Android SDK (Objective C, bluetooth low energy, SDK
- Game (Unity 3D)
- Data Science (Python, R, streaming servers, Spark)
- UNIX systems
- Relational databases (PostGres), non relational (Cassandra, Mongo)
