Designation: Director
Experience: 15 years and above in a University/ Institute of repute responsible for E-learning platform.
Qualification: Preferably from Media and Arts/Cinema/ Communication.
Salary: Best in the industry. However, it shall be governed by market and industry norms.
Objective: To develop and manage the sales of Online Education Products creatively to maximise market share, overall customer satisfaction and other strategic objectives of the business.
- This is a key position which reports to the Top Management. The incumbent shall coordinate with colleagues in University/Institute to develop a strategic approach to technology-enhanced learning.
- The post-holder will provide support for the enhancement of learning and the student experience through the facilitation of innovation, creativity and knowledge transfer with regard to e-learning.
- S/he shall be overall in charge for the setting up, executing and implementing the E-learning platform for the university/institute and shall be responsible for:
- Top Line and Bottom Line
- Sales and Marketing (ATL, BTL, Digital Marketing)
- Manpower planning and Budgeting
- Coordinating with Concerned authorities.
- Academic and Administrative control
- Learning Management System Administration
Business Plan of the Online SBU
- Creative courses (media) ranging from Certificate to Degree
- 100k users in 2 years increasing to 1 million in the first 5 years
- Currently 200k inquires for off-line courses each year which can be converted
- Year 1 target to have 50 courses online increasing to 300+ in 5 years- time
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Work within the broad ambit of the University Learning and Teaching Strategy to inform decision-making about strategically positioning technology-enhanced learning.
- Understand the strategy regarding teaching and learning, including requirements of programmes and units, guide use of technology
- Promote, develop and evaluate the impact of technology enhanced learning on the student learning experience.
- Advise new programme development
- Liaise with other Faculties of the University to be proactive and collaborative in supporting the development of improved technology-based learning.
- Proactively source funding opportunities.
- Contribute specialist e-learning skills and knowledge to technology-enhanced learning projects, to meet l objectives.
- Take a lead role in University /Institution wide e-learning projects including identifying and evaluating e-tools, new approaches to e-learning and emerging notions of embedding e-learning in the academic context.
- Identify and promote local and national examples of enhancement innovations of relevance to the School.
- Liaise with colleagues from the Computing Services, Web Services, Library and other academic departments to ensure an integrated approach to the University's/institutes e-learning practice.
- Provide one-to-one and group support for academics seeking to develop e-learning approaches in teaching and to support research.
- Design web, multimedia and print support material on aspects of e-learning.
- Design support for students in using e-learning tools for effective study.
- Develop and deliver e-learning aspects of the University's central staff development programme (including workshops and seminars).
