Head - Sales & Business Development (API)

- The incumbent would be responsible for sale and business development for domestic and international business and will play a crucial role in driving API business growth and market penetration by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities in domestic and international geographies.

- The incumbent primary focus will be on expanding client base, strengthening relationships with existing customers, and exploring strategic partnerships within the global pharmaceutical landscape.

- He/She has to establish connects with decision makers of top pharma companies and generate business by executing effective sales strategies and achieve revenue targets.

Commercial Sales:

- Guide the sales team in day-to-day activities to ensure smooth functioning of the business and in the monthly order forecasting for production planning.

- Manage sales activities to add new customers and increase market coverage of existing range of products in untapped regions.

- Identification of markets and customers for new products and products in pipeline.

- Assist the sales teams for a successful launch and in ensuring sales of new products once commercialized.

- Maintaining a monthly sales order database and generating monthly sales reports at the end of each month.

Key Responsibilities:

- The candidate should have a track record of managing sales and business development activities across India, APAC(Asia-Pacific), and MEA (Middle East and Africa).

- The ideal candidate should have a background in dealing with regulated markets as well as accessing mid-size companies in semi-regulated and unregulated markets. This includes countries such as India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam,Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

- The candidate should possess expertise in product replacement strategies and conducting spot business transactions.

- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the API segment, focusing on the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, delivering exceptional customer service and addressing their needs Lead negotiations and close deals with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.

- Provide market insights and analysis to drive strategic decision-making and identify potential areas for business growth

- To conclude the business deals with the international clients, and take quick action for commercialization Market research, trends, data analysis, competitor analysis, customer preferences using data sources like IQVIA (IMSdata), Exim data.

- Important Use of Social Media and Online Tools, to find out clients in different countries and then connect with them, and convert them as importers

- New Market Development- Country research and importer research, sending initial emails, calling and fixing appointments to meet them.

- Responsible to explore overseas business opportunities, and communicating with clients effectively to develop business,and increase sales Ideally, the candidate should currently be responsible for achieving an annual revenue target.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor's/PG degree in business, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field with Minimum of 20 years of experience in business development and sales in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on APIs Proven track record of successfully identifying and closing business deals.

- Strong negotiation and communication skills

- In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, including market trends, competitors, and regulatory environment Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
