Head - Risk Analytics/Model Validation + Development - Banking (17-22 yrs)

Key Accountabilities :

- Effectively lead a team of model validation specialists in offshore centre to support the Group Model Validation function

- Full accountability for delivering the validation outputs that meet the agreed service levels across different types of models (including credit risk capital models, business scorecards, macroeconomic and simulation models) and ensure that validation activities meet internal standards and relevant regulations.

- Drive innovation and exploring opportunities to improve efficiencies and operational effectiveness of the team.

- Maintain good / production relationships with internal and external stakeholders including onshore GMV team, model development team, business users of the models, model owners and MRO

- Talent management - recruitment, training and retention of resources in the offshore centre

- Create productive work environment and maintain strong team morale and productivity

- Support Head of Group Model Validation in addressing issues or questions raised by regulators, senior management or internal auditors.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : (List typical pre-requisites for high performance)

Knowledge and Expertise :

- Extensive knowledge of risk modelling, especially Basel II IRB, IFRS9 and IMA model requirements; a minimum of 17 years of (combined) working experience in these areas

- Strong technical and quantitative analysis skill with postgraduate academic degree in quantitative subjects such as Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Actuaries or Quantitative Finance

- Experience in building a team of analytics and solid track record in managing a medium to large team (15+) of analytics in financial industry

- Solid understanding of model-related regulations, risk model applications, business uses and related model governance requirements

- Ability to work well with diverse groups of stakeholders including model developers, model owners, credit officers, IT and governance teams

- Strong problem solving skill and conflict mediation skill within workplace

Non-technical skills :

- Strong leadership and team management experience; good track record in managing a large team

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills at senior level

- Strong project management skill

- Multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity
