Job Title: Retail Sales Head
Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability in the FMCG retail sector.
- Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Define sales objectives, targets, and KPIs in alignment with company goals.
2. Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage a team of sales professionals, including sales managers, executives, and representatives.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure the team is motivated and equipped to meet sales targets.
- Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and recognize top performers.
3. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail clients, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and distributors.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and develop customized solutions.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to secure profitable partnerships and long-term business relationships.
4. Sales Planning and Execution:
- Develop sales plans and forecasts for different product categories and geographic regions and monitor sales performance, analyze sales data, and identify areas for improvement.
- Generates ideas about future retail activities both in MT & GT to ensure a cutting-edge strategy; maintains up to date knowledge of the market place, competitors and trends
- Coordinate with other teams to ensure product availability, visibility, and promotional activities meet sales objectives.
5. Market Expansion and Business Development:
- Identify new business opportunities, channels, and markets to expand the company's presence and market share.
- Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets, launch new products, and grow existing accounts.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and feasibility studies to support business development initiatives.
6. Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the sales budget, ensuring expenditures are within budgetary constraints.
- Monitor sales expenses, analyze financial performance, and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Generate sales forecasts, projections, and reports for senior management review.
Skills and Competencies:
- Post Graduation or MBA in Sales and Marketing from a Tier 1 University or equivalent Professional Qualification.
- Proven track record of success in FMCG retail sales, with at least 8 years of experience in a leadership role in an MNC.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate PAN India sales team.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills to develop effective sales strategies and drive business growth.
