Position overview : We are seeking an ESG Ratings Head of Research/Head of Office: Mumbai (Mumbai Head of Research) to lead the COMPANY'S ESG India research team. The successful candidate will be part of the global COMPANY'S ESG research team, which assesses the environmental and social performance of the world's most relevant companies, covering a continuously expanding universe of companies worldwide. Providing investors with a basis for their investment decisions and companies with a valuable benchmark, COMPANY'S ESG research, services, and products are an important driver for advancing ESG investments and for improving the ESG performance of companies. The Mumbai Head of Research is a senior leadership role responsible for providing direction and guidance for the COMPANY'S ESG Research team in Mumbai, India. The Mumbai Head of Research will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong and high performing COMPANY'S ESG research team and creating a positive and collaborative working environment.&nbsp; This senior leadership role will help drive strategic initiatives related to key COMPANY'S ESG business goals including driving COMPANY'S ESG as a market leader in the ESG product, service, and thought leadership space; ensuring scalable and efficient research and ratings processes; developing and enhancing a transparent assessment and ratings methodology that ensures adherence to global standard setting frameworks, alignment to financial materiality, and risk adjusted return profiles demanded by investors. Finally, they will participate in critical COMPANY'S ESG Research strategic thinking, decision making, and in organizational change initiatives. As the research team is based in Germany, the US, the Philippines, India, Sweden, Australia and the UK, the successful candidate will need to work both independently as well as collaboratively with local colleagues as well as colleagues abroad. Main responsibilities : - Develop and maintain a strong and high performing COMPANY'S ESG Mumbai team, manage team performance, productivity, and research quality. - Provide leadership and guidance for the COMPANY'S ESG Mumbai team, mentorship and professional development of COMPANY'S ESG Mumbai team members. - Place COMPANY'S ESG in a competitive market position by focusing research on coverage expansion across developing, developed, and emerging markets. - Contribute to asset class research growth in ALTS (Real Estate/PE) and FI - outline a clear path for scalability and required partnerships and market data needs. - Contribute to COMPANY'S ESG strategic thinking, decision making, and help lead organizational change initiatives.. - Deliver fact-based and data supported decision making to the COMPANY'S ESG executive committee outlining clear goals over both the short and longer term. - Leverage ESG research methodology experience, drive solutions for clients across markets and specific client segments. - Use creativity and innovative approaches, including technology, to unlock resource capacity. Professional skills and qualifications : - Bachelor's degree. A relevant master's degree (Examples: ecology, environmental studies, or international human rights) or MBA with a sustainability concentration is highly desirable. - Integrity, organizational skills, attention to detail, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment. - Ability to work within a team-oriented environment and communicate with various internal and external parties. - Demonstrated leadership skills: 10+ years of leadership and management experience in managing large teams in progressively increasing areas of responsibility for driving team objectives and outcomes. - Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members. - Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly process large amounts of data and information. - Work experience in the field of sustainable investment as well as knowledge of specific ESG topics/sectors. - Excellent English language skills, both written and oral. - Strong and effective communication and presentation skills. - Commitment to excellence and quality management/control. - Strong analytical abilities and natural intellectual curiosity. - Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
