Head - R&D - Automotive Product Design & Development

- Responsible for leading the entire engineering function at India Technical Center, Bangalore with deliverables across global and domestic business.

- Develop and lead growth roadmap for engineering center

- Direct all aspects of engineering activities and projects.

- Ensure all engineering activities, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organizations established policies and objectives.

- Establish and improve performance metrics for engineering center.

- Responsible for major deliverables / metrics out of engineering center for all product lines spanning across following focus areas

Improve Plant Profitability & Quality Performance

- Meet or exceed budget targets for engineering center.

- Support business growth objectives through pursuit support, new product solutions and benchmarking.

- Engineering support for global design centers and Pune plant.

- Drive and achieve VAVE savings as part of material performance targets in coordination with purchasing team.

- Develop and retain critical talent. Succession development planning and talent development

- Set direction & team purpose as aligned with global stakeholder for continued growth of technical center.

Experience

- Graduate or PG in Engineering with 20 to 25 years experience in automotive product design & development and related areas.

- Must be from either OEMs or reputed Tier 1 organization with good experience in product development cycle.

- International assignment or substantial international experience would be appreciated.

- Experience in dealing with customers and techno-commercial issues
