HEAD (Public/Media Relations)

- You are responsible for nurturing a strong industry network, increase awareness and develop an enviable corporate image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations programs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics

- Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media

- Coordinate all public relations activities Knowledge and Experience of handling multiple events

- Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours.

- Direct social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media

- Preparing press releases, keynote speeches and promotional material

- Building positive relationships with stakeholders, media and the public

- Must be able to think off creative ideas

- Maintaining and updating information on the organization's website.

- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media

- Manage media inquiries and interview requests

- Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations

- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis

- Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.

- Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness

- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them

- Conducting PR and Marketing research

- Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis.

- Collaborate with internal teams

- Edit and update promotional material and publications (brochures, videos, social media posts etc.)

- Experience of working in a high-pressure environment

Qualification And Experience:

i. MBA in journalism, communications or public relations or equivalent qualification with 12-18 Years of professional experience in brand management, executing communication products/campaigns & managing Public Relation events/activities

ii. Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level

iii. Strong relationships with both local and national business and industry media outlets

iv. Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews

v. Exceptional writing and editing skills

vi. Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

vii. Event planning experience

viii. Proven track-record in campaign-based PR and branding

ix. Ability to interact and effectively manage stakeholders

x. Ability to lead a campaign

xi. Good team management skills

xii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.

xiii. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.

xiv. Ability to effectively present information.

xv. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.

xvi. Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles.

xvii. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

xviii. Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

xix. Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

i. S/He should provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.

ii. Also approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.

iii. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval.

iv. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.

v. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.

vi. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
