Head - Public Relations & Communication

Our client is one of the leading online social media company, looking for Head of Public relations and communications.

The role will be responsible for :

- Managing external communications and public affairs.

- Developing proactive media relationship campaign.

- Managing incoming media inquiries.

- Liaise with others on global communications team to effectively frame messages across consumer, ads and product areas.

- Working closely with Media Partnerships, Business Development, Sales, Policy and Growth teams in India to increase local usage by consumers, partners and advertisers.

- Identify relevant speaking opportunities, manage incoming requests, and provide onsite support.

- Develop and write communications plans, blog posts, statements, and Tweets, as needed.

- Manage a PR agency and direct report to build a high-performance local communication function.

Looking for :

- 12-15 years of experience in consumer and/or technology PR.

- Hands-on agency or in-house experience with consumer / online / media company, preferably with a North American/European MNC.

- Possesses strong relationships with mainstream consumer and business media.

- Strong writing, editing and messaging skills.

- Strong skills in collaboration, project management and planning.

- Depth of knowledge about free expression and privacy issues highly desirable.

Ideally, this person should have a successful track record of working with consumer and/or online brands, and has proven PR/Communication experience, such as managing media relations programs, writing press releases, organizing press events, managing speakers bureau activities, driving creative campaign development and handling crisis communications.
