Head - Public Relations

Position Summary: The Head of Public Relations is responsible for developing and implementing effective public relations strategies to enhance the reputation and public image of the organization. This senior leadership role involves managing the organization's communication with the public, media, stakeholders, and other key audiences. The Head of Public Relations plays a critical role in shaping public perception and maintaining positive relationships with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive public relations strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify key messages, target audiences, and channels for effective communication.

2. Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, interview requests, and press releases. Manage media relations during crisis situations.

3. Corporate Communication: Develop and oversee the organization's internal and external communication activities. Ensure consistent messaging across various channels and platforms. Manage the production of newsletters, press releases, speeches, and other communication materials.

4. Brand Management: Develop and protect the organization's brand identity and reputation. Ensure consistent branding guidelines are followed in all communication efforts. Monitor and address any negative publicity or brand-related issues.

5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, investors, and community members. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of messaging.

6. Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to handle potential reputational risks. Act as a spokesperson during crisis situations and provide guidance to senior management on managing public perception.

7. Social Media and Online Presence: Oversee the organization's social media strategy and online presence. Monitor online conversations, respond to comments and inquiries, and manage online reputation.

8. Measurement and Analysis: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of public relations initiatives. Analyse data and provide regular reports on the impact of communication efforts. Make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

9. Team Leadership: Manage a team of public relations professionals. Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of public relations initiatives. Analyse data and provide regular reports on the impact of communication efforts. Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in public relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

- Proven experience in a senior-level public relations role, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.

- Strong knowledge of public relations strategies, tactics, and best practices.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional storytelling abilities.

- Demonstrated experience in media relations, crisis management, and brand management.
