Only Pharma Formulation experience with exposure to Raw Material, Packaging Material procurement will qualify. API exposure alone will not be adequate.  Position : HEAD – PROCUREMENT / MATERIALS  Education : BSc/BPharm/B.E Chemical with Diploma in Materials Management/ MBA in Operations/ Diploma in IIP  Experience : 20 years+ in Pharma Industry with thorough knowledge of procurement in formulations i.e. Raw Material, Packaging Material and third party procurement. Knowledge and experience of systems development, Procurement methods, vendor assessment methods.  Location : Navi Mumbai ( Locals preferred )  Compensation : Competitive and commensurate with candidate caliber and experience  Role Responsibilities and Desired Profile :  - Role is to head the purchase function and, manage and mentor a team of purchasing professionals.   - To manage and deliver procurement for meeting the Company’s strategic and operational objectives. Procurement of Raw materials – local & imports, packaging materials, third party items, promotional, Misc & Hospital items.   - Negotiations with approved suppliers for A, B class and critical C items at the most competitive price, availability & quality. Manage material flow to ensure inventory is maintained at the optimum level to support on time deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at appropriate levels.  - Prioritise and manage all procurement activities using a range of contracts and contract management techniques and provide management information as appropriate. Liaison with key vendors to keep abreast of current market trends for effective decision making.   - Review the approved supplier list, develop new vendors, and introduce vendor assessment techniques to measure performance and quality of supply. To locate and study new potential alternate supplier for existing products to get better competitive price, quality & service etc. Investigate, and re-engineer where appropriate, all processes and systems within procurement and logistics to deliver as per the procurement strategy and action plan.  - Be responsible for, and manage effectively, capital and revenue expenditure within the budgets set in order to deliver both cashable and non-cashable savings against agreed targets.  - Develop and implement cost efficient policies and procedures to cover all procurement and logistics activities and review cost at regular intervals. To manage procurement staff, internal customers and suppliers in a coherent and effective manner.   - Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics of procurement team. Interdepartmental communication across Packaging, Business Development, Planning, Shipping, Accounts, Excise & Factory. Communication with Suppliers/ vendors for contract manufacturing and loan licence units.   - Should have good Negotiation Skills, Creativity & Innovation, Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, Excellent time management skills, A logical thinker who pays attention to detail, Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, Self-motivated and able to influence and motivate others.  If you fit in, please forward your CV in Word format along with current & expected CTC, notice period.
