Head- Procurement, Contracts & Claims

The Head Procurement is responsible for number tasks that are critical for both profit and development company and maintaining the store in order to ensure access to necessary supplies and accommodations.

Also manages MIS and inventory

He reports to Country Head - UTPL

The key responsibility and accountability of the Procurement/Stores Manager are :

- Getting the Goods and Services for Best Price and Value.

- Cutting any waste and unnecessary costs to create a streamlined process and fast production times

- Working with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and cost-effectively

- Building strong working relationships both internally and with key suppliers

- Contract management and negotiation

- Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in the business

- Dealing with international suppliers

- In-charge of the entire logistics involved in the shipment of materials both local and overseas procurement and to ensure materials arriving at Mumbai Port are transported and stored at the designated storage location within the depot area.

- Manage the team of logistics department to ensure all aspects of logistics are handled in a smooth manner to avoid any kind of poor handling of consignment at both depot and port end.

- To lead a team who has the experience to diligently and efficiently handle a store, ensuring sufficient materials are available to ensure smooth operations.

- To provide all necessary reports on stores on a weekly basis to the management.

- To manage complete operations of the Depot stores, to adequately support the entire Operational and Maintenance Department's requirement.

- Ensure a smooth Material Management System (MMS) is implemented and all inputs are maintained with strict control procedures put in place.

- Recruit, hire, train, evaluate and counsel store employees. Schedule, organize and direct assignments.

- Maintain, encourage and possess - ownership mentality.

- Develop and implement employee performance evaluations and improvement plans.

- Effectively manage employee turnover. Provide a positive working environment and handle employee issues appropriately and in a timely manner.

- Resolve customer problems or complaints by determining optimal solutions.

- Ensure interior and exterior of store is maintained to company standards.

- Encourage store employees to take ownership for their performance and career development plans; follow up on a regular basis.

- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure the employees also provide the same level of service.

- Ensure employee awareness of safety and emergency procedures.

- Maintain adequate store supplies.

- Execute and monitor loss prevention and shrink programs.

- Management of all store operational issues, to include store housekeeping, store administrative duties, physical inventories, price changes, etc.

- Ensure all orders are properly documented and released for pick-up.

- Responsible for preparation of work schedules.

Qualification & Experience :

- Graduate in Merchandising or in any other field with good inter-personnel management skills and leadership qualities.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Procurement & Store management and able to handle a team of people to achieve positive results. Proven track record of managing a medium to big sized Depot/Factory environment will be an added advantage.

- Able to communicate at all levels of the team.

- Proficient in communicating effectively in English, Hindi and Marathi language.

- Ensure health safety & environmental policy is implemented to at all times in stores area
