Head - Packaging - Food Industry

Our client is a Food start-up entity within a leading Indian business conglomerate. They are venturing into Ready to Eat technology with the help of this start up and have a factory in Southern India. They are looking for a Packaging Expert (Rigid and Flexible) in the perishable food industry to join them as Head-Packaging at their factory in Southern India

Reporting into the Head-Marketing and managing a team of Asst. Managers-Packaging, you will be responsible for - 

- Coordinating development of packaging in line with customer preferences and desired quality in close coordination with SC, suppliers, Marketing, QA and Operations

- Encompassing packaging structure and material recommendation and validation, cost optimization and aesthetics recommendation

- Executing Projects in line with best practices.

- Managing expectations of key stake holders in project team by providing regular feedback on project progress.

- Driving profitability through key cost optimization projects and delivering cost targets by identifying and executing potential areas of savings

- Setting up and implementing best practices and key packaging SOPs and knowledge management systems

- Effectively interfacing with stakeholders from Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain and QA

- Identifying and developing latest technology in the field of packaging material / system

- Supporting for handling packaging complaints and implementation of best practices including support to QA team

- Training and development of Junior packaging executive

Ideally you are a Packaging/Plastics/Polymers expert with at least 10 years of experience in packaging in Food/Pharma/Perishable edibles industry. You should have sound knowledge of Rigid & Flexible Packaging, paper boards & secondary packaging. You are well versed with cost management and vendor development expertise, project management skills and team management skills.
