Profile : Operations Head

Job description:

- We are looking for a Senior Leadership role who has experience of handling a chain of retail stores, managing a huge team of Sales Managers, Store Managers, and other executives. Ensure the smooth functioning of Business day to day, and handle all operational issues efficiently.


- He/she will be responsible for the entire operations management of the business, implementing the Standard Operating Procedures and putting process management into place.


- We are looking for some with an experience in handling similar role especially in retail industry or textiles/apparel or similar industries.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Managing the entire store team - Store managers, Asst Store managers, regional managers, customer service managers - follow up on daily SOPs implementation, follow up on daily reports etc

2. Ensuring all issues are handled effectively at store level - employee related, store related, customer related etc

3. Train and develop the team to ensure they deliver outstanding customer service

4. Hire candidates, induct them wherever required, to ensure there is no gaps in any kind of service issues or smooth functioning of the stores

5. Review performance of each and every store, key employees and understand the reasons for any pitfalls or failures and try to rectify the lags to improve the same

6. Handle all Key Aspects of Store Managements - Key Vendors, Store Owners, Admin related etc and ensure that the monthly payments, transactions etc are being done on time

7. Analyze the store expenses and try to reduce them wherever possible and try to keep the admin expenses at the company defined norms

8. Revamping all stores to meet the hygiene levels, ensuring they are well maintained to meet up to the customer expectations

9. Conduct regular store audits as per the Company Norms

10. Manage Inventory levels at all stores as per the given norms, as per the industry audits reports perform the required stock transfers, etc ensure that the stock inputs are doing as per the store indents, handle damage goods appropriately, control shrinkage, ensure no pilferages

11. Visit all stores as per the monthly tour plan, ensure that the observations or any improvements suggested are implemented to improve the service levels

12. Rate all the stores on their service levels, maintenance, staff performance, inventory management etc and submit the monthly review report to the management

13. Interact with various external agencies, govt bodies, vendors etc to handle any issues, grievances, etc

14. To understand daily, weekly and monthly store targets, clearly identifying what this means in terms of sales, profitability, costs, staffing levels and ensuring this information is communicated effectively to the team

15. Interact with staff, understand their issues, communicate with the management and try to resolve them immediately. Build a culture among the team which enhances the performance

16. Be a good team leader, build and train high impact teams

17. Opening, closing and cashing up correctly, ensuring all paperwork for the day has been completed correctly, including targets for the next day and a comprehensive handover

18. Ensure all staff are kept up to date on changes to products, offers and promotions.

19. To reduce stock loss in store. Observes safety and security procedures. Reports any misuse or theft of stock the Management

20. Ensure all the store related compliances etc are done on time

Preferred candidate profile:

1. A very strong effective leader with an experience of Operations Management especially in retail sector

2. Experience with textiles industry or fashion or apparel is preferred

3. An MBA is preferred qualification

4. Worked in a fast pace, high turnover store

5. Ability to train, delegate work, follow up with team is the most important skillset

6. Thrives off a busy and dynamic environment, ability to effectively communicate.
