- SCHOOL EXPERIENCE MANDATORY-   The Head of operations is:  1. The interface between the Head of School, and the School Chairman to ensure expeditious handling and resolution of all school- related matters.  2. Responsible for providing professional management of the school support staff- in consonance with the HR policies- to enhance their effectiveness.  3. The embodiment of the highest standards of ethos within the administrative structure of the school.  4. Accountable for the Financial Resource Management /Facility & Property Management/Health & Safety Management of the School, in keeping with the respective compliances norms.  FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  To ensure that any instruction from the Trust/Society is conveyed promptly and properly to the School Management Committee and the Head of School.  To exercise general supervision of the school, subject to the control of the School Management Committee.  To implement such financial powers as prescribed in the Scheme of Management, and delegated to him/her.  To sign, on behalf of the School Management Committee, appointment letters, letters for disciplinary action against any staff member, termination letters, and suspension letters, etc.  To countersign all letters concerning affiliation/recognition.  To aid, assist, and facilitate the Head of School in proper discharge of his/her responsibilities and duties.  To draw up, implement, and control the school's budget.  To oversee policies and procedures related to student discipline, as well as relevant laws and regulations.  To be accountable for the school's safety plan (disaster preparation, fire drills, and safety of the student, staff, and public) and the students- health.   To ensure timely disbursement of the staff's pay and allowances.  Note: Besides these, if required, additional functions and/or responsibility for the Head of Operations might be prescribed by the School Management Committee.  GENERAL DUTIES  Leadership & Strategy  1. Attend all meetings of the Senior Management/Leadership Team, full Governing Body, and those of relevant Sub-committees.  2. Negotiate strategic decision-making within the school's Senior Management/ Leadership Team.  3. In the absence of the Chairman &, undertake delegated responsibility for decisions related to financial and other matters.  4. Facilitate change, in accordance with the school's development/strategic plan.  5. In consonance with HR policies, enable all contractual obligations for the outsourced staff.  Financial Resource Management  1. Evaluate data; and consult with the Principal & CFO to prepare a realistic and balanced budget for any school activity.  2. Discuss, negotiate, and finalise the budget with the Principal & CFO, prior to being sent to the Chairman for approval.  3. Provide ongoing budgetary information to the individuals concerned.  4. While spending the agreed-upon budget, actively monitor and control performance to achieve optimum value for money.  5. Propose revisions to the budget (if necessary), in response to any significant, or unforeseen, development.  6. Identify and inform the Principal, CFO and Chairman of the cause(s) of any significant variance; and take prompt corrective action.  7. Immediately inform and advise the Principal and Chairman if any fraudulent activity is suspected (or uncovered).  8. Maintain a strategic financial plan that will indicate the trends and requirements of the school development plan; and forecast budgets for the upcoming years.  9. Identify any additional finance required to fund the school's proposed activities.  10. If, and when, necessary, actively seek and implement specialist financial expertise available with the School Management Committee/Trust/Society.  11. Put formal financial agreements in place with suitable providers for agreed-upon amounts, at agreed-upon times, and appropriate agreed-upon costs.  12. Monitor the effectiveness and implementation of all such financial agreements.   Administration Management  1. Optimise the use of data analysis, evaluation, and reporting systems; and ensure these systems are streamlined, so as to maximise efficiency, and avoid duplication.  2. Benchmark systems and information to assess trends; and make appropriate recommendations.  3. Prepare information for the Principal, Chairman and other agencies and stakeholders, while following the statutory guidelines.  4. Ensure all compliance norms of the State DOE and the CBSE are met.  Management Information Systems & ICT  1. Consult Universal Learn Today for the use of- and plans to introduce (or discard)- technology at the school.  2. Consult with Universal Learn Today and other relevant parties to introduce new technology at the school, or to improve the existing ICT setup.  3. Ensure adequate contingency plans are in place in case of a technology failure.  4. Make sure systems of data collection and providing information to stakeholders are streamlined to maximise data efficiency.  Human Resource Management  1. Monitor the relevant legal, regulatory, ethical, and social requirements, and the impacts they have on the school and its staff.  2. Supervise the way in which policies and procedures are implemented; and provide support, where necessary.  3. In HR-related issues, if, and when, necessary, actively seek and implement specialist expertise available with the School Management Committee/Society/Trust.  4. Evaluate the school's strategic objectives; and obtain relevant information for workforce planning.  Facility & Property Management  1. Supervise and ensure that all planning and construction processes are being undertaken in line with the contractual obligations.  2. Ensure the maintenance, safety, and security of the school premises.  3. Manage the maintenance of the school site, including the purchase and repair of all furniture and fittings.  4. Ensure the continuing availability of utilities, site services, and equipment.   5. Follow sound practices in estate management and grounds maintenance.  6. Monitor, assess, and review contractual obligations for all outsourced services.  7. Ensure a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders of the school, in which due learning processes can be provided.  8. Monitor and manage all ancillary services (e.g., catering, cleaning, etc.).  9. Seek professional advice on insurance; advise the School Management Committee on appropriate insurances for the school; and implement and manage such schemes accordingly.  Health & Safety  1. Regularly consult with people on health- and safety-related issues.  2. Ensure relevant systems are in place for risk assessments and prompt identification of hazards.  3. Make sure systems are in place for effective monitoring, assessing, and reporting of health and safety issues; and if not, inform the Principal and the Chairman, and, where appropriate, the Health & Safety Executive.  4. Ensure there is maximum level of security that is consistent with the ethos of the school.  5. Make sure statutory obligations are being met for students with special educational needs, while ensuring that the financial- and supporting-agency services are adequately catering to their diverse needs.  Salary offered: 12 - 15 LPA
