Head - Mortgage Underwriting - BFS

Job Purpose

The role holder will be responsible for credit check and credit approval of MSME/LAP Elite.

Key Accountabilities

- The incumbent will be responsible for Analysis of credit applications to assess whether the credit risk is in line with the Credit Appetite and relative to the profitability of the deal. Perform data evaluation on information retrieved from hard money loan applications

- Conduct risk assessments on potential clients based on previous borrowing history, credit rating, industry experience and other factors

- Investigate real estate properties in question and make assessment about investment ROI

- Will provide analysis, conclusion, and recommendations to determine credit line amounts and communicate this information to the sales.

- Hold personal discussion with prospective customers to obtain credit information to support credit lines and carry out site visits on regular basis.

- Consult with internal and external stakeholders for potential client review.

- Monitor any violations of credit policies, provide analysis, conclusion, and recommendations.

- Develop processes and procedures for evaluating customer financials and setting and changing credit lines/limits, as well as credit hold.

- Will generate legal documents used in the credit function fo r Pre loan & Post loan disbursement documentation is accurate.

- Review credit history, assets, the size of the loan, the appraisal of the home for mortgage applicants for approval/rejection of the application based on the risk presented.

- Research project costs for remodeling and renovating properties listed on loan applications

- Render application decisions based on consultations with supervisory underwriter and upper management

- Prepare reports detailing risk assessment findings and other data that contribute to lending decisions
