Head - Merchandising - eCommerce

Currently we have an opening with one of our reputed client which is one of the fastest growing Indian e-commerce startups in the children’s vertical.

Designation: Merchandising Head

Location: Mumbai

A. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND VENDOR MANAGEMENT:

1. Reach out to vendors, clearly articulate business vision, establish relationships, and nurture strong partnership

2. Collaborate with vendors - provide insights related to revenue, product, and customer metrics

3. Negotiate favorable terms, and ensure steady flow of goods to meet growth in customer demand

B. ASSORTMENT PLANNING, PRICING, AND MARKET STRATEGY

1. Develop and execute optimal category strategy for the business. Build, identify, and expand product selection to meet strategic objectives

2. Manage pricing and assortment plan leading up to launch of a brand, and sustaining the business on an ongoing basis

3. Identify opportunities to drive top line growth and margin. Perform analysis of business categories to drive insight into revenue and profitability

C. ON-SITE MERCHANDISING

1. Develop on-line merchandising and boutique calendar to achieve sales targets

2. Manage product set-up for effective on-site merchandising

D. INVENTORY & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT

1. Project sales by SKU to determine inventory requirements to drive forecasting and purchasing decisions

2. Ensure streamlined inventory flow necessary to meet plan

3. Determine and execute liquidation strategies for unproductive inventory

Qualifications

1. Must have a natural inclination towards business development, forging alliances, and vendor management.

2. Prior experience and an MBA from a top business school.

3. Strong communication and leadership, preferably experienced in leading teams

4. International exposure to assortment and availability in international markets

5. Strong quantitative skills and use of excel is necessary.
