Head Material and Supply Chain (Industrial Steam Turbines Manufacturer)

Experience : 15-20 Yrs (Age 40-45 yrs)

Job Purpose :

- To plan and manage supply chain activities from procurement to shipping to achieve company's business targets in a timely and cost-effective manner

Principle Responsibilities :

- Communicate turbine and Direct Bought Out items cost based on price movements to marketing on quarterly and annual basis

- Plan and procure raw material and factory bought-out items for turbine production based on Production Programme for steam based power plants upto 60 MW (Alternators, Condensers, Cooling towers, ejectors, control panels, pipes, structural steel, pumps, motors, etc.)

- Plan, procure and dispatch of direct bought-out items as per Projects department's site closure A-budget

- Managing procurement cost within budget limits

- Procurement support for spares and refurbishing jobs

- Procurement of capital goods

- Providing logistic support for domestic and export projects

- Developing and evaluating new and existing suppliers to ensure a robust supplier base

- Achieve cost targets through

a) Negotiation with supply chain partners

b) Alternate sourcing

c) Cost saving activities/projects

d) Import substitution products

e) Annual Rate Contracts

- Managing inventory by monitoring the stocking policy and procurement actions to ensure delivery commitment

- Participating in regular reviews with :

a) Projects for supplies

b) Spares and Refurbishing for supplies and shipping

c) Manufacturing and Projects for turbine production

d) Internal customers (Manufacturing, CCC, Projects) for resolution of complaints

- Providing adequate support for post delivery issues related to supply parts

- Reviewing purchase policies, processes, procedures and making appropriate revisions for improvement

- Establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain for best practices

Qualifications : B. E (Mechanical) with a professional specialization in materials management
