Head - Marketing (India)

- The primary purpose of the role is to develop and implement marketing activities to execute on the sales and share growth objectives contained in the strategic and annual plans for the Indian domestic market. Sales and marketing activities include market and segment analysis, definition of the product offer, segment and customer targeting plans, and marketing communications in support of required programs. The incumbent will have shared responsibility with the sales functional lead(s) in delivery of these share gain programs for the agreed customer and segment targets.

- The role has responsibility for developing and managing the annual marketing and ASP plan linked to the sales and marketing strategies for the business.

- In addition, the role represents the Indian domestic market by providing direct input into organization on product development, product cycle planning, marketing intelligence, design and range development needs and market / competitive intelligence. It is also required to support the development of export products from India to other markets, as well as managing opportunities in the India market for products from other parts of the group business.

Key Responsibilities :

- Provide leadership to organization marketing organization in order to develop and implement distinctive, competitive business strategies, fundamental market analysis and competitive Intelligence based on consumer and channel insights and brand power that gives an edge in the marketplace to build revenue, market share, and profits. Ensure delivery against goals through clear prioritization and focus on results.

- Service as organization marketing leader and challenge existing paradigms. Deliver best practice in brand management and product / service innovation through a well-managed - product development stage / gate process. Work collaboratively with the senior executives, especially sales and operations, and gain alignment for all major marketing and new product development initiatives.

- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long term, to support the financial, strategic, and organizational objectives of the company. Implementation and management of core sales and marketing growth programs as laid out in strategic plan for India market.

- Core product portfolio management, marketing program development and responsibility for implementation of programs for targeted segments (Commercial, Residential, OEM). Integration of locally manufactured collection(s) into group product cycle plans, conversant with unique local design direction. Responsibility for product range development in support of specific market segment needs.

- Integrated sales and marketing plans

- Product sales support (sales stories, competitive data)

- Manage program of regular product life cycle updates (designs / finishes) in conjunction with Local and European Design needs, and, in-line with group policies targeted at needs of India market. Manage opportunities for added value premium products available from Europe and the rest of the group.

- Manage local advertising and promotions activities in line with annual marketing plan and allocated budget. Cost and Pricing policies to maximize sales and profitability. Ensure promoted range and service policies are aligned with needs of customer. Monitor and evaluate the agencies for innovation and execution excellence.

- Foster an environment that stimulates open communication, creativity, imagination and engenders a team spirit in solving problems and identifying and capturing new business opportunities.

Ideal Experience :

- A proven senior level Marketing Manager with a well-developed, broad-based, strategic marketing capability, preferably across a group of products / markets. This experience will encompass the creation of value propositions through market research and analysis, new product development and implementation of successful marketing plans.

- Prior experience in managing a highly capable marketing team in a well-regarded building products or consumer goods company where success has been delivered through insightful market segmentation strategies.

- Fully understands channels to market and is experienced in managing / mitigating channel conflicts that may arise as new market strategies are implemented.

- Strong contributor to a high performing executive team that had delivered substantial gains in shareholder value.

Qualification & Experience :

- Management Degree preferably in a Marketing discipline

- Leadership / Management Diploma

- Industry experience an advantage

- Technical Development or Product Management experience (5 years desirable)

- The role will require a technical bias
