1. POSITION(S) VACANT: Head- Marketing & Communications, International Not-for-profit Organisation, Delhi/ NCR

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Our client is a respected, International Not-for-profit Organization (INPO), focusing on ending poverty and social injustice across the globe, through comprehensive programs in health, education, livelihoods, and disaster preparedness and response.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Senior Director- Fundraising, Marketing, and Communication (SD-FRMC), the Head- Marketing & Communications (HMC) shall be responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of the organization's brand and marketing strategies, communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal.

The HMC will direct the efforts of the marketing, and communications staff and coordinate at the strategic and tactical levels, with all other functions of the organization. S/he will oversee all marketing campaigns and be the point of contact for all major internal and external relationships.

S/he will set and guide the strategy for all communications, website content, and public relations messages, as well as collaterals, ensuring these, are consistently aligned with the organization's mission. The HMC will also ensure that the organization is viewed as the primary source, disseminator, and conduit of information within its diverse network and constituent base.

Key Job Responsibilities:

(A) STRATEGY & MANAGEMENT:

(1) Lead the development of marketing and communications plan of the organization and ensure adherence to the goals and brand outlined therein;

(2) Ensure achievement of the goals and objectives of the marketing and communications plan; Institute appropriate evaluation systems related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the SD-FRMC;

(3) Ensure that the systems, staffing, and procedures in place are able to properly and reasonably support marketing and communications;

(4) Work closely with program staff to design and implement communications strategies and effective messaging aligned with organizational and project-specific goals;

(5) Work with the Directors of Finance, Procurement, and other functions to track and update annual budgets for marketing and communications, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance;

(6) Assist program staff in ensuring that their communications are updated frequently, outline core organizational programming areas, are culturally sensitive, and reach diverse audiences;

(7) Manage organizational partnerships that support organizational marketing and fundraising goals;

(8) Work with external agencies in creating and implementing the communication plan;

(9) Provide support in crisis management and control.

(B) BRAND MANAGEMENT:

(1) Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual marketing and communications plan that includes social media, print, and digital content, and email marketing;

(2) Ensure that brand identity, messaging and marketing and communications strategy, are infused in all organizational efforts (programming, development, network support);

(3) Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing campaigns related to programs, special events, and donor cultivation;

(4) Track and measure the level of engagement with defined stakeholders over time;

(5) Manage development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collaterals, including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual reports, e-newsletters, and the organization's website.

(C) CONTENT STRATEGY AND MANAGEMENT:

(1) Lead the strategization as well as generation of engaging digital content for the organization's website, social media, and email channels, resulting in measurable action;

(2) Manage press and public relations;

(3) Identify trends, monitor current events and influencers, to anticipate opportunities to engage in and/or lead the conversation in key areas of the organization's work;

(4) Guide the strategy on press outreach, including messaging in press releases, creation of press kits and materials, interview preparation, and responses to media requests;

(5) Develop close partnerships with members of the media.

(D) FUNDRAISING:

(1) Assists all FRUs with fundraising appeals and events;

(2) Oversee and direct digital marketing campaigns;

(3) Support corporate and direct fund-raising teams with marketing insights and support in developing their annual plans for fundraising and donor engagement.

(E) OUTREACH:

Occasionally represent the organization at public events.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualifications

(1) Bachelor's degree in relevant field;

(2) Applicants with a master's degree in marketing, business administration, management, journalism, and/or communications, shall be preferred.

Experience

(1) Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with extensive exposure to leading the communications, marketing, social media, and public relations activities of a high-growth organization;

(2) Experience in running digital campaigns for brand building, securing new donors, advocacy, etc.;

(3) Experience in developing and implementing successful social marketing strategies.

Essential Skills and Competencies

(1) Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the successful development and execution of branding, digital and off-line marketing campaigns, communications, and public relations activities;

(2) Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal skills, with experience of managing multiple projects at a time;

(3) Excellent writing and editing skills;

(4) Proven track record in developing a broad spectrum of proactive media relations campaigns and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences;

(5) Willingness to travel 25-30% of the time for official purposes;

(6) Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is essential. Experience of working on Salesforce and Adobe Design Suite shall be preferred;

(7) Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams;

(8) Strong oral and written communications skills;

(9) Excellent people skills, with experience of collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team;

(10) Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems;

(11) Flexible and a self-starter; Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while also being highly detail-oriented, with close attention to quality;

(12) Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the organization's mission;

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

Gross compensation budgeted for the position is Rs. 25 lacs per annum approximately, with scope for improvement for exceptional candidates. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and salary history.
