Our client is an extremely well funded lending startup, originally backed by founders from India's top fintechs and ecommerce companies. It is currently on the verge of closing its institutional round at a valuation that truly captures its potential. Our client is headquartered in Gurgaon and has commenced expansion across India.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Drafting and vetting of agreements, settlements, deeds and all other legal documents

- Responsible for all litigation matters and strategy .

- Managing relationships with relevant partners (law firms etc, including appointment and empanelment of advocates

- Working closely with the Collection and Recovery teams spread over multiple locations in India - including identifying process improvement areas, ensuring that collection teams are aware of relevant legal responsibilities and obligations etc

- Supporting the credit/underwriting process from a legal and documentation perspective

- Managing relationships with relevant regulatory bodies

- Working with business leadership on relevant issues such as media strategy in situations where legal issues are involved

- Proactively identifying potential legal risks and bringing to management's attention

- Build out legal function

Requirements :

- Law degree

- 8+ years experience in a lending environment, preferably NBFC
