Job Description: Head-Legal

1. Company Overview:

Lawyered is a legal-tech platform that addresses a major pain-point of the logistics sector in India. We have created a solution to resolve on-road legal challenges for millions of vehicles by providing on-the-spot live legal services through our extensive network of lawyers. Our platform aims to revolutionize conventional legal services by utilizing technology and making them accessible as "Consumer Products."

2. Role Overview:

Lawyered is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head-Legal to establish and lead the legal think-tank of our organization. As the Head-Legal, you will be responsible for providing the legal expertise and guidance required for the successful execution of our various legal-tech products. You will collaborate with internal and external teams, build and manage a strong legal network, and contribute to the growth and development of our legal operations.

3. Responsibilities:

- Establish and lead the legal think-tank of Lawyered, emphasizing a proactive and "getting it done" mindset to ensure effective legal support for the execution of legal-tech products.

- Provide legal counsel and expertise to the executive team, various departments, and external stakeholders, emphasizing practical solutions and timely execution.

- Oversee and manage a small internal legal team, fostering a results-driven environment and providing strong leadership to ensure efficient operations.

- Build and manage a network of lawyers, retired Judges, RTOs, Police Officials, and other relevant legal professionals, leveraging their expertise and connections for the benefit of the organization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new legal-tech products and enhance existing offerings, emphasizing the importance of execution and meeting deadlines.

- Stay updated with the latest legal developments, regulations, and industry trends that impact our operations, and ensure the legal team is well-informed and prepared to address any legal challenges.

- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and review contracts and agreements to ensure compliance and mitigate risks, prioritizing efficiency and accuracy.

- Act as a liaison between Lawyered and external legal partners, fostering strong relationships and managing legal engagements, emphasizing timely and effective communication.

- Represent Lawyered in legal matters, including litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution processes, ensuring a strong advocacy for the company's interests.

- Provide legal guidance for corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and other relevant legal areas, emphasizing practical and actionable advice.

4. Qualifications and Skills:

- Minimum 8 to 10 years of hands-on litigation experience in any High Court, with a track record of successful legal engagements.

- In-depth knowledge of corporate law, motor vehicle laws, and relevant legal domains, with a practical understanding of their application in a legal-tech context.

- Strong understanding of legal-tech products and the ability to provide strategic legal insights for their development, with an emphasis on practical implementation.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills to effectively lead and motivate the legal team, instilling a "getting it done" mindset and ensuring results-oriented performance.

- Startup mindset with a proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving, with a focus on overcoming challenges and achieving objectives.

- Good network within the legal fraternity, including lawyers, retired Judges, RTOs, Police Officials, and other relevant legal professionals, with the ability to establish and manage relationships for the benefit of the organization.

- Law graduate with a strong litigation background, emphasizing the ability to navigate legal complexities and provide practical solutions in a fast-paced environment.

5. Reporting and Team Structure:

- The Head-Legal will report directly to the Founder and will be an integral part of the core team.


- The position will involve managing a small internal legal team and coordinating with external legal resources as necessary.
