Our client is a leading Bank. We are looking for Head - Legal for Mumbai Head office location.

Job Specification:

Age - Preferably not more than 40 years

Experience - up to 12 years in the banking or financial services, out of which minimum 5 years should be in the Legal dept. of a Bank.

Educational Qualification - LLB

Knowledge and Skills - Knowledge of Corporate Laws (mandatory) and good understanding of industry practices.

- Strong influencing & relationship management skills with respect to external stakeholders such as regulators, legislators, Investors, and Internal stakeholders (including Board of Directors).

Job Description and responsibilities [indicative, not comprehensive]:

1] Supporting various departments and Businesses in legal and compliance matters.

2] Be part of and execute special and cross functional projects on case to case basis

Manage all legal BAU such as:

3] Preparation and vetting of documentation vis-a-vis Companies Act for directors.

4] Monitoring related party transactions

5] Digitalize to the extent permissible documentation and disclosures

6] Scrutinizes all the contracts/orders received for legal risk and analyses them as per the company standards and policies

7] Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained

8] Supervises and interacts with Panel Lawyers, Courts and other Law Officers of Govt. from time to time

9] Managing Litigations (Civil, Criminal, Labour, Regulatory, IPR etc.) on pan India, Develop strategies, suggest measures to prevent & close litigations. Timely appraising all stakeholders about the potential exposure.

The incumbent will have a direct and indirect reporting of approx. 2 to 3 members.
