Our client - an Indian MNC has retained us to identify a Head Legal for them : Candidates from the manufacturing/automotive industries Experience in working in a corporate environment is a must. Responsibilities will include: 1. Land and other civil and criminal matters 2. Drafting, vetting, negotiating various strategic and non-strategic commercial agreements, with both domestic and international third parties, all sorts of corporate contracts like Joint Venture Agreements, Business Transfer Agreements; Commercial Contracts like distributor contracts & License Agreements and collaborations. 3. Managing litigation in all Courts and various other / tribunals/commissions / regulatory authorities or resolving critical issues and maintaining sustained contact with legal professionals for initiating and follow-ups on legal procedures and finalizing various legal agreements. 4. Analysing new laws and regulations for potential impact on group policies and procedures. 5. Managing Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) issues involving: - Registration of trademarks, patents, and copyrights - Protecting company's trademarks by initiating legal action against infringes 6. Experience in handling Anti-Dumping / CCI cases. 7. Monitor and ensure compliance with statutory matters pertaining to, Indirect Tax, GST, Knowledge of Land Acquisition and Property Laws. 8. Can handle Court Cases on behalf of Company. Can Deal with Debt Recovery Tribunal, Consumer Courts and good to have corporate Legal exposure. 9. Experience in dealings at all courts of law, including lower level, High courts, supreme courts. Must have dealt with lawyers at these respective courts including senior counsels. 10. Exposure in dealing with appellate authorities in VAT/ EXCISE and in courts for related cases will be an added advantage. Responsibilities : 1. To effectively manage all responsibilities of the legal department; 2. To monitor legal executives performance and provide effective feedback; 3. To ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the legal department and coordinating the daily activities of the legal department to ensure the department runs efficiently 4. Work closely with the CFO for all legal activities
