Head Legal

Location – Delhi/NCR

This job description is intended as a representation of the primary responsibilities of and qualifications for this position. The job description is not intended as inclusive of all duties an individual in this position might be asked to perform or of all qualifications that may be required either now or in the future

Act as an internal adviser on all legal matters and liaison with external authorities where required. Investigate, negotiate and advice for settlement or litigation for disputes, claims or lawsuit

- Ensuring statutory and legal compliance of various legal and judicial provisions.

- Representing company in courts / tribunals pertaining to legal matters.

- Attending to court or any other judicial authority in connection with any legal proceedings.

- Maintaining sustained contact with legal professionals viz. Advocates/Solicitors and legal consultants.

- Liaison with statutory authorities for legal compliance, completing the formalities and representation.

- Initiating or defending the litigation to protect interest of the organization.

- Preparing & drafting of claims for arbitration and handling the same in Arbitration.

- Providing in-house legal advice on all operational activities and contracts.

- Liaising with advocates in Supreme Court and High Courts; assist them in preparation of cases and attending important hearings in these courts as a combined legal action.

- Preparation of affidavits, discussion with solicitors for appointment of Senior Counsels, briefing and arriving at line of arguments prior to and at the time of hearing.

- Discussing and appraising the Management on issues involved, legal provisions applicable to the issues, the chances of success and the various courses of action available to sort out issues for clients.

- Leading the deliberation to arrive at its logical conclusion.

- Coordinating various unscheduled requirement arising out of business exigencies, change of regulations etc.


- Negotiating for and finalizing various contracts and agreements

- Drafting and vetting legal documents including MOUs, Joint Venture / Consortium / Lease Agreements etc.

- Preparing Case Papers, Plaints, Written Statement, Affidavits, Writ Petitions, Appeals for various legal proceedings and finalising the same with Advocates / Solicitors.

- Compilation of documents, Sequencing of events to facilitate the appearance and arguments


Education: Professional Degree in Law


1. Minimum 10-15 yrs of experience in corporate laws with well known Corporate and or leading Law Firms.

2. Experienced in handling legal aspects

3. Must be familiar with changing legislation

4. Able to communicate across various levels

5. Strong IT skills .

6. Analytical skills

7. Detail oriented

8. Process Efficiency
