Role: Head IT Infrastructure
Location: Mumbai
Reporting to : Chief Financial Officer
Educational Qualification and key experience:
- Graduate in engineering/MBA
- 10 – 14 years of managing IT Infrastructure including Infrastructure, Networking, Application Development and Deployment
- Should have an ability to understand and execute multiple new initiatives including initiatives around digital marketing and consumer experience
Job Summary:
This position will oversee the enterprise information technology organization that includes IT Infrastructure (covering end user computing, storage and servers, network infrastructure, data center/hosting, security, communication infrastructure including land and mobile telephony, video conferencing), Application Development, Enterprise Resource Planning, Project Management and New technology introduction where relevant.
Responsibilities:
- Assess overall information technology operations; oversee the design and implementation of new applications and changes to existing systems and software; evaluate and procure new hardware and software to meet enterprise needs.
- Lead the technology and project management aspects of the next phase of implementation of the ERP system chosen by the Company
- Manage the day to day activities of the IT team and instituting controls to ensure smooth and effective service to the IT function’s internal and external customers.
- Develop and maintain the information system security covering telephony and core network infrastructure.
- Make decisions on funding priorities, requests for staffing, major technology issues, and new operational initiatives.
- Research and recommend strategic and tactical plans, with an emphasis on innovation, regarding information technology systems, telecommunications, and technology initiatives to the management.
- Enhance IT responsiveness as well as business performance by optimizing critical IT service management processes and provide real-time visibility into infrastructure performance
- Institutionalize knowledge and methods to enable continuous improvement, performance gains, and consistency.
- Recommend, maintain, make available, and enforce approved policies, standards, practices, and security measures related to the infrastructure to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources.
- Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures and allocate resources accordingly.
- Assist the Commercial / Finance / Sales & Marketing teams in eCommerce and Digital Marketing / Social Media initiatives
- Position the organization's IT assets for the future.
- Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of information technology.
- Review and recommend vendor proposals and contracts.
- Develop annual IT budgets and monitor their expenditure.
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology field or equivalent experience/MBA.
- 12-15 years of progressive experience with 5 years of executive level experience within a medium to large organization that has a complex information technology operation.
- Certification in project management and various information systems platforms
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of a comprehensive information technology department.
- Knowledge of in-house developed and commercial off-the-shelf software applications, networking, and data management strategies.
- Ability to effectively manage vendor contracts, Service Level Agreements, and relationships.
- Ability to recommend and approve major contracts for information technology services.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.
- Ability to implement software and system upgrades or change projects.
- Knowledge of project management and implementation.
- Strong leadership skills including the ability to create a culture conducive to selecting, developing, retaining, evaluating, and motivating skilled and cohesive teams.
