About the team :

Non Financial Risk Management are an established organization within the company consolidating to legal, operational and Compliance risks and to support the business lines by analysing and assessing the risks in these areas and providing advice on documentation, procedures and controls, with a view to optimal management of these risks and to ensure that business develops harmoniously.

Position Overview :

- The Head NFRM IT, India is responsible for the build out of the technology development teams to support delivery of the core NFRM Risk technology programmes covering NFRM, Risk Management and its transformation .

- This role reports into the Head of Risk Technology, Pune and globally in the Head of NFRM IT, LN. and is primarily responsible for driving vendor rationalisation and IP repatriation through consolidation of the development teams into Pune.

 This will require the Chief Technology Manager to drive the following Transformations with our Global Teams :

NFRM Transformation :

- Completeness, accuracy, automated controls in-system, Zero EUDAs, BCBS 239, IMA waivers, Stress Testing, Basel 2/3/4, Capital Optimization, RWA reduction

Technology Transformation :

- Our move to a future proof technology stack ie Hadoop, spark, scala, R, java, AI, ML, micro services, kubernetes, openshift, Oracle, HTML5

- One copy of the truth, workflow, reduce h/w, decommission systems and build out the strategic platform around the tech stack listed above

Operating Model Transformation :

- SAFE Agile, DevOps, automated testing, cycle times approaching 1 day!

- Drive Agile collaboration with the Business and the broader NFRM IT team globally

Workforce Transformation :

- Build Capability around the tech stack, operating model, and risk transformation with employees while reducing vendor sprawl and footprint

Additionally, the candidate will be expected to drive the following :

- Influence and shape the overall Target Operating Model (TOM) for Risk IT including maximization of the development capability and resources in Pune

- Drive the vendor consolidation and IP repatriation into the Pune development centre for Risk IT

- Recruit to build a strong technology delivery capability for the department.

- Drive technical excellence and improve efficiency and overall quality of the developed applications.

- Work with the Global Risk IT leads to agree effective transition plans for the key programmes and ensure a controlled and phased migration of the core development activities to Pune

- Work with the global architects to ensure we are leveraging best practise, shared services and driving innovation as much as possible.

- Work closely with relevant business and IT domain heads to understand and guide solution vision & execution planning.

- Work closely with relevant IT development teams in order to ensure a detailed understanding of the technical design and successful delivery of the technical solutions

- Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture group to provide wider thought leadership to the Risk IT solutions.

- Drive end to end efficiency across all stakeholders and divisions through aligned front to back architectural thinking and influence.

- Understanding the IT target architecture such that projects can be delivered strategically.


Responsibilities:


- Develop a good understanding of the activities required to execute the development/bug fix activity.

- Actively participate and contribute in Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint review, Sprint retrospective meetings

- Take part in software and architectural design activities

- Perform analysis, development, testing and debugging/defect fixing for the assigned stories/bug fixes

- Develop the required functionalities using the appropriate java technologies

- Write unit tests for the developed code.

- Recommend changes to improve established java application processes.

- Integration of changes with other user stories developed by team members

- Deployment in Development/integration/UAT environments

- Create required documentation for the project.

- Meet the SLA's for any assigned defects.

- Development and delivery KPI's shall be met.

- Shall be ready to learn new Java technologies as per the project requirements.

Essential Technical Skills :

- Ability to face off to, influence and engage senior (Managing Director, Director Level) stakeholders from the Risk and Infrastructure Functions

- Ability to lead and communicate strategic IT articulation & decision making around IT architecture and data models to address implementation requirements

- Proven track-record of successful IT project delivery to high-pressure clients

- Extensive experience coding with various languages.

- Must have excellent communication skills and able to work with developers in remote regions.

- Experience of working in a robust technology environment with a clear appreciation of software development best practices and change control procedures,

- Proven track-record of successful IT architectural design to high-pressure clients

- Strong architectural design skills and detailed understanding of the different architectural design patterns

- Detailed understanding of data architecture and protocols

- Ability to develop business non functional requirements Ability to develop business cases and conduct requirements/business analysis

- Ability to lead IT development teams both directly & via influence

- Ability to coordinate across global platforms for Risk to ensure that required changes are planned and implemented

- Ability to face off to Production Support personnel around issues, risks, production problems, product direction and complexity and build their understanding of requirements to help production support scale team appropriately

Ability to perform financial management, understanding and tracking spend to ensure program remains on budget

Preferrable Technical Skills :

- Hadoop, spark, scala, R, java, AI, ML, micro services, kubernetes, openshift, Oracle, HTML5

- Significant experience in Risk technology and associated vendor products and technology implementations

- Understanding of SOA & high-level IT architecture

- Has managed multi-disciplinary teams

- Experience of automation of quantitative tasks eg. machine learning

Experience Required :

- Demonstrable significant experience in leading large-scale transformation programmes to successful conclusions

- Significant time in a senior leadership/management role with material P&L accountability

- Relevant experience working in the Financial Services industry

- Proven experience in leading, mentoring and coaching teams

- Experienced in strategy development

- Experienced in effectively communicating with and positively influencing diverse stakeholders and team members

- Experience in delivering new or changed business and IT infrastructure for large, complex, multi-business/multi-functional programs

- It development experience, including appropriate SDLC models

- Proficient Stakeholder / Sponsor management

- Good oral and written communication skills

- Structured in approach and well organised

- Financial planning and tracking for programs of + - 30M

- Experience in negotiation of external technology vendor contracts

Education  Certification : Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in an IT related discipline
