Head - Information Technology - Industrial/Engineering

We at PeopleSense are looking for “Head – Information Technology” with 8 to 10 years experience in a leading Engineering client company at Andheri, Mumbai.

Position: Head - Information Technology

Purpose :

To work with all business units and functions to provide them with information technology solutions that will add value in the services of company’s customers.

Job Responsibilities:

These responsibilities are broad areas of work expected from the job holder. It is a collection of vital and essential tasks and responsibilities that the job-holder is responsible to: plan, prioritize and execute.

Planning :

- Advise management on key technology issues of relevance to various functions and businesses of CLIENT Group and make recommendations for major decisions.

Execution:

- Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies;

Project management:

- Ensure execution of projects by coordinating with resources, user departments and data centres considering the cost, quality and timeliness;

- Update the Managing Director through regular progress reports;

Budget:

- Control the operational costs of the IT department, including the preparation, submission and monitoring of operational budgets that meet prevailing objectives and constraints;

Risk management:

- Ensure that IT and Information Security (IS) systems, infrastructure and stored data are secure against internal and external threats and position effective and appropriate measures for risk management and information Security;

Resources management:

- Oversee negotiation and administration of vendors, outsourced suppliers and consultant service agreements and contracts;

Knowledge advancement:

- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; bench-marking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional bodies.

Team Management:

- Create effective, efficient and high performing teams, by mentoring and coaching all team members.

Process Improvement:

- Study and map the existing processes and recommend changes to make business operations cost effective, also reduce response time to customer and improve the quality of customer/principal service.

Quality management:

- Ensure proper compliance of ISO 9001:2008 guidelines so that there are no quality issues.

Corporate Social Responsibility:

- Spend one day in a year on a social cause.

Other Responsibilities:

- To execute any other task/work entrusted to you by your Reporting officer.

Profile of the candidate:

- IT bachelor degrees; master degree in management is recommended;

- Managerial abilities with excellent technical and knowledge;

- Significant experience in managing IT projects from inception to delivery either in a web development or systems management environment;

- Strong understanding of software development, systems management and project management.

- Awareness of the current technology for web development and a passion to seek more information on the future.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues.
