Some of the responsibilities includes:
1. Work with the Director on tax decisions and determinations based on an in-depth knowledge of the company, industry trends, tax research and changing laws to identify issues and value-add service opportunities
2. Train the Indirect Tax team regarding tax research techniques using sources such as state and local tax Statutes, Regulations, Code/Administrative Authority and reputable tax research organizations or external counsel
3. Model and champion Company's values and competencies
4. Define, implement and monitor standards and policies to ensure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, agreed global procedures, regional business requirements, statutory governmental regulations, and SOX requirements to minimize liability and risk
5. Previous work experience within the Indirect tax arena
6. Knowledge of the indirect tax market
7. Client facing and business development skills
8. Flair for negotiating with VAT authorities in order to get the best result for your client
9. CTA qualified or substantial relevant work experience gained within the indirect tax field
People management skills with proven experience of delegation and project delivery through a team
