Location - Pune  Client Industry - MNC into Transport Operation Services (Greenfield in India started in the year 2016). Client is in the process of building an entirely new organization of 2,000 people of which 1,800 would be blue-collared workmen.  Required Experience & Skills : MBA (HR/IR) with 7-15 years of experience working in a union environment and with an international company.   Diverse HR experience with broad knowledge of recruiting, employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, labor relations, and training and development. Experience in negotiating labor contracts, experience representing employers in arbitrations, presenting other government agencies   The candidate needs to be willing roll up their sleeves and be directly involved in all areas of HR. Further to the points above, the candidate should be visionary in maintaining a positive workplace; while maintaining a commitment to company policies and procedures.  Job Purpose: Develops, recommends, leads, and directs a positive, pro-active human resources and labor policy designed to strengthen the Company's management of its operation and to minimize the risk of work interruptions consistent with overall policies and practices.  Major Responsibilities:   1) Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the organization's human resources function and performance.  2) Assists in developing and formulating company human resources and collective bargaining polices, objectives and strategies. Provides advice and counsel to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding HR policies and procedures, labor contract administration, dispute resolution, leadership development, etc.   3) Establishes credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective source for listening and problem solving.  4) Develops appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the company. Included in this area, but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development.  5) Enhances and/or develops, implements, and enforces human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall effectiveness of the company.  6) Plans and recommends budgets, manages expenditures, and reports on budget variances.  7) Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.  8) Creates vision for training programs which will help to continually improve productivity of consulting groups and other departments throughout the company.  9) Oversees the development and maintenance of the company's diversity and affirmative action programs.  10) Manages the defense of the company in all government related inquiries and legal proceeding.  11) Leads and directs the strategic planning, collective bargaining and administration of labor relations activities, in line with company strategy.  12) Represents the Company in collective bargaining, arbitration hearings, and other administrative agency proceedings involving labor relations matters to the extent permissible, practical and feasible.  13) The above duties are not meant to restrict initiative, but rather to define minimum activities.
