Financial Controller / Head Finance
- Our client is a new economy-focused credit fund (AIF Cat 2) being set up by ex-bankers with 65+ years of cumulative experience in banking, structured finance, start-up funds, and working across client groups within India and overseas.
- The fund will look to provide debt solutions that address various dynamic needs of the New Economy for fuelling growth, consolidation, CAPEX, and other alternate structures.
Must Have:
- An overall 5+ years of experience with atleast 3 years of experience at an AIF (debt/ equity) in the finance team
- CA is a must have qualification.
Location: Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
In relation to the fund (AIF):
- Responsible for supervising and overseeing the fund accounting (both investor side and financial records), bookkeeping and investor ledger management
- Liaise with various service providers in relation to fund custody, RTA functions, investor KYC and onboarding, fund flows, investments, valuations, etc
- Responsible for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial reporting and regulatory filings, as applicable, to SEBI and other regulatory agencies
- Liaise with auditors about annual fund accounts
- Prepare MIS - regular as well as non-standard and investor specific. Lead preparation of quarterly, annual and other ad-hoc investor communication and reporting
- Responsible for tax filings/returns - Income tax (including TDS), GST etc
- Responsible for maintaining the investor database and investor servicing and to respond to various investor queries;
- Work with vendors in ensuring call of investor capital, reconciliation of amounts received, investment, receipt and reconciliation of return of investment, and subsequent distribution to investors
- Work through investor payout and carry calculations
- Ensure completion of all legal and regulatory requirements
In relation to the GP entities:
- Help maintain books of accounts (working with service providers)
- Work with various vendors/ suppliers in relation to service contracts, billings, settlement and record keeping
- Work with service providers to ensure due compliance of all LLP related regulatory and compliance requirements
- Liaise with auditors in relation to annual fund account
- Responsible for tax filings/returns - Income tax (including TDS), GST etc
- Work with HR service provider in relation to payroll processing, HR record management, tax and other compliance filings
- Ensure completion of all legal and regulatory requirements of the GP entities
Knowledge competencies:
- Prior understanding of SEBI AIF framework and requirements relating to thereof
- Possess strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting standards
- Ability to work with multiple parties to ensure seamless fund flow, reporting and reconciliation process
- Knowledge of audit and tax rules as would be applicable
- Extremely proficient in MS Excel, good knowledge of accounting softwares, working knowledge of other Office applications
- Well versed with Tally, data entry, IFRS , IGAAP, preparing financials and active involvement in tax assessments and compliance. Understanding of relevant laws and statutes
