Head - Finance - Startup

Our client is a well funded lending startup which is on the verge of closing institutional funding and is backed by Angel Investors from top Fintechs. Our client is currently operating from Gurgaon and is planning to expand to other cities in India. They are looking for a Finance Head to supervise all financial tasks of the company and ensure they use capital and resources beneficially.

Position Summary:

- The Finance Head will be crafting financial strategies and managing accounting teams.

- He/She will maintain the company's financial health and increase profitability in the long run.

Reporting to The role reports to the Co-Founder.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive the financial planning of the company by analysing its performance and risks.

- Retain constant awareness of the company's financial position and act to prevent problems.

- Experience in dealing with investors, audits maintaining right accounting practices, overseeing audits and should have been part of the process of obtaining a NBFC license.

- Supervising accounting staff, overseeing internal controls, setting financial targets, implementing fund-raising strategies, engaging with investors, developing a financial strategy.

- Set up and oversee the company's finance IT system.

- Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors etc.)

- Oversee all audit and internal control operations.

- Develop the corporate fundraising strategy and manage relationships with partners and investors.

- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis.

- Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives and ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

- 8+ years of experience in financial analysis, controllership, closing company accounts, tax, audit etc and forecasting for technology led consumer businesses, fintechs/NBFCs.

- CA degree is a must and 2+ years of experience in executive leadership positions is preferred.

- Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships.

- Good communication skills - both written and verbal.

- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

- A results-oriented professional with the ability to nurture & lead high performing teams and work in complex cross-functional environments.
