Head - Finance - Social Commerce Startup

The company is a well funded social commerce platform with a vision to democratize commerce in India. A young dynamic and passionate team from pedigreed institutes is at the helm of the company.

Responsibilities :

- Preparation of annual financial plans

- Maintain and update forecasts through the year against budget

- Manage financial controls, accounting procedures and ensure transparency over the financial performance of the company

- Monitor and manage how to grow revenue by focusing on the right set of categories

- Monitor and manage reduction of operational costs by tracking key operational metrics

- Coordinate and oversee internal and external audit procedures

- Preparation of monthly reports

- End-to-end management of daily affairs including payroll & expense management, reconciliations with banks & merchants,

- Management of payments and invoicing to the merchants selling on the platform

- Management of payments and invoicing to the resellers using the platform

- Management, reconciliations and optimization of logistics cost (incl. COD cost)

- Statutory filings - TDS, TCS, GST (incl. for key merchants), RoC filings

- Manage investor relationships and oversee fund-raising

- Manage financial reporting to CEO, board members, and investors as needed

Skill Set :

- All-round knowledge of various aspects involved in accounts & finance

- Should have thorough knowledge of sound financial planning, fund raising, corporate governance and compliance

- Should have strong leadership skills, with an entrepreneurial can-do attitude

- Strong fund sourcing capabilities with proven experience

- Focus on driving for transparency and results

- Strong negotiation skills

- Curious & self-learner

- Ability to think through a business both strategically and operationally

- Take complete ownership and drive issues end-to-end independently

- Willingness to get hands dirty and not afraid of going out in the real world

- Strong understanding of business & metrics to prioritize issues and execute quickly while managing competing needs

- Excellent analytical skills to break down and solve complex problem

- Strong attention to detail

Work Experience :

- 12+ years of experience, with at least 5 years at an e-commerce company leading the finance function 

Qualifications :

- Chartered Accountant / MBA who has worked with early-stage start-ups

- Graduate from a premier institute
