The candidate will join a leadership cohort of highly skilled development and humanitarian professionals as well as direct a team of accounts and finance specialists and consultants. Client is poised to strengthen itself as a thought leader with corporates, policy makers, political leaders and the domestic and international NGO sector.

Responsibilities:

Key Areas of Responsibility :

- Implement and maintain sound financial controls and ensure that these controls are adhered to by all especially under Work from home scenario

- Oversees day to day implementation of accounts functions, provide supervision, direction. Guide and mentor the Accounts team.

- Ensure timely statutory compliances in general and with particular regard to compliances prescribed under the Companies Act, 2013, Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1952, Income Tax Act, 1961, Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, The Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952, Profession Tax Act and The Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972.

- Oversee MIS, Budgets, annual budget review process and Capital expenditure.

- Work closely with Tax, GST and Secretarial consultants.

- Follow up with IT Department for Income Tax assessment.

- Attend Monthly meeting, drive board meeting & Annual General Meeting.

- Ensure secretarial compliances in connection with the meetings prescribed above.

- Support in - drafting resolutions, documentation of changes in Board related matters, Correspondence with all stakeholders.

- Short term investment of funds and utilization statements for donors/CSR/Project funds.

- Ensure smooth relationship with Banks for all Banking operations.

- Ensure accurate Donor Grant Accounting, its Utilisation and Donor reporting.

- To implement continuous financial audit and control systems to monitor flow of funds, adherence to the budget, expenditures, funds raised etc.

- Ensure that all stakeholders (management team, board of directors, auditors) receive accurate and timely financial management information.

- Alert the Board regarding any irregularity, lack of adherence, and problems concerning the financial systems and resources of the Foundation.

Head - Finance

- Provides guidance to Vertical heads with information related to budgets, income and expenditure, procurement, investments, insurance, taxation, advice in drafting agreements/MOUs.

- To participate in the annual performance appraisal of the accounts staff.

- Participates in leadership discussions.

- Drive all aspects of financial and compliance management for the Foundation; will work collaboratively with other teams, implement internal policies and procedures.

- Would be responsible for all financial and compliance functions in the program including accounting, vendor payments, budgeting, financial reporting, banking, grantee financial management; support the fund infusion work of the top management team and provide timely reports, assistance to the Leadership team and the Program team to ensure that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively.

- Shall supervise a team of 3 to 5 Finance personnel Associates, and report to the CEO of the Foundation.

Requirement:

- Post-Graduate or MBA in Finance or Chartered Accountant

- Minimum 20 years experience with at least 5 years in a similar role.

- Social sector relevant experience is a must

- Excellent command over English and polished verbal/presentation skills.
