Job Purpose : - Overall responsibility for the financial records of the Company, asset/liability management, financial reporting, accounting & taxes, financial planning and Banks/Investor relations. - Evaluate and, where necessary, develop and manage a financial management program to ensure that financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, MIS, budgeting, general accounting and financial reporting, and controls are in place and effectively utilised. - Effectively lead cost & revenue optimisation. - Oversee financial reporting & ensure compliance of applicable rules & regulations. - Ensure compliance with statutory reporting guidelines and audits. - Build & develop capability and capacity for the future succession. - Deliver high performance with the current team. - Drive & oversee ERP implementation. - To create accounting models to provide the COO and Group CFO with forecasts and business systems analysis to manage profit, growth and risk. - To focus on opportunities for automation of business process, MIS and system integration opportunities to improve operation efficiencies and reduce fixed overhead. - To analyse the company's commercial agreements to determine true value and to reduce the cost of investment whilst at the same time improve return on investment. Primary Function : The primary objectives of this position is to : - Provide detailed MIS, data analysis, reporting, forecasting and research to support strategic planning and MIS reporting practices, - Improve the business- commercial performance by analysing results and recommending both strategic and operational areas for development, - Review and improve where appropriate management information systems in order to improve the company's decision making capability - Identify trends and risks to support ability to grow and continually gain market share - Ensure legislative compliance of all accounting principles and disciplines within the business. - Formulate and Implement Strategies for Organization in terms of Financial and Commercial objective. - Demonstrating a - roll up the sleeves- attitude with the ability to - deep dive- into the details of the business.- Major Responsibilities : Management Reporting : - Plan, implement and manage the financial reporting system for Organization - Produce accurate timely and meaningful financial management reports as specified by management team and any other reports as required - Understand the financial legislative requirements of parent company and streamline reporting mechanisms to meet these requirements - Provide business heads with the tools to budget / forecast on an annual basis Business Analysis : - Conduct detailed statistical analyse in order for the senior management team to improve decision making capability e.g. supplier contracts, market analysis, product range, risk analysis - Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure information is relevant, timely and accurate - Prepare detailed reports analyzing current data to predict future opportunities - Production of detailed reports outlining recommendations substantiated by factual evidence - Identify opportunity to reduce cost, improve margin without compromising quality of service or product offering Accounting : - Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure controls are in place to mitigate fraud and negligent activity - Develop core corporate policies which staff and management need to adhere - Ensure staff are trained to adhere to these procedures - Ensure all policies, practices and frameworks are compliant - Documented department procedures are in place and reviewed annually - Core accounting policies are uploaded on the intranet for staff compliance and reviewed at least annually - Discrepancies raised with the respective Business Head and COO for review and analysis on a monthly basis - Accounting standards are maintained - Spot check accounts team work to ensure compliance Audit and Compliance : - Be responsible for coordinating the audit schedule for Organization and Parent Company - Keep up to date with legislative changes and advise the business of how these requirements will be met - Audit results demonstrate compliance with accounting standards - Audit discrepancies are resolved with an action plan - All legislative reporting timelines and rules are met - eg: tax, payroll, superannuation etc) Risk Management : - Identifying potential risks and making recommendations of how these risks can be mitigated - Develop reporting tools to forecast needs vs. risks to enable pro active decision making,
