Head of Accounts & Finance (From Service Sector Only)

HEAD ACCOUNTS & FINANCE ROLE

Responsible for leading the control function and setting the right control standards and procedures. Work across functions to set up and drive accounting & financial control mechanisms in line with business strategy. Head Accounts & Finance oversee all the balancing of the accounts at the end of the financial year, ensure monthly compliances and quarterly review. Present the accounts to the management/ board. Make suggestions to the management on how to improve profits and cut losses.

Duties and Responsibilities of Accounts Head:

- Provide leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team

- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/president and members of the executive management team

- Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting. Come up with financial solutions to improve profits. Prepare Annual Budget in coordination with the Business Heads and other stakeholders. Approving or rejecting budgets

- Advising on long-term business and financial planning

- Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders. Present the accounts to the management. Coordinate with the heads of other departments

- Cashflow management. Allocate resources and manage cash flows

- Taking care of Cashflow Management, CAPEX and OPEX, Capital Management.

- Developing reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs of the agency

- Audit Management (internal, external & cost audit)

- Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations

- Oversee all ROC Compliances, Direct Tax & Indirect Tax compliances. Preparing all procedural/statutory compliances related to TDS deduction, filing of TDS returns and income tax return connected matters

- Participating in the development of the organizations' plans and programs

- Evaluating & advising on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory interaction.

- Reviewing and Monitoring Expenses.

Monitoring the following accounting activities :

- Day to Day Accounting, Accounting standards and finance activities, Oversee project accounting & Maintenance of accounts of all assigned region, Reviewing and Monitoring Expenses, Accounts Receivable & Payable Management, Reconciliation of Bank Statements, Consolidation of books of projects, Preparing and Finalization of Balance sheet and schedules, Monthly books of accounts closure, Conduct profit and cost analysis

- Handling bank relationships and initiating appropriate strategies to enhance cash position and ensure availability of funds for expansion

- Handle the complete account departments and their employees

- Report any financial discrepancies to the proper authorities

- Train, mentor and guide juniors.

Education, Experience & Skills Required by Accounts & Finance Head:

- Chartered Accounting (CA) d1egree is mandatory

- Total 11 - 14 years of experience in accounts & finance department post qualification. Candidates from service sectors will be preferred.

- Must have successfully supervised the Accounts & Finance department for at least 5 - 7 years in any SERVICE sector company.

- Prior experience in budgeting, setting up an accounting practice

- Should know all the latest accounting laws & procedures, and develop accounting procedures specific to their own company

- Be able to manage employees coming from different background and different abilities

- Must have excellent leadership, decision making and contingency planning skills

- High integrity level, strong work ethics, diligent and sincere

- Ability to sensitively deal with authorities, deal with pressure and ensure ethical practices being followed in entire accounts department

- Travel occasionally within India for work purpose
