Company: Unicorn Electric Mobility Space Designation: Director of Electrical Engineering Location: India - Bangalore Roles and Responsibilities: Lead development of all electrical systems for the vehicle: - Motor - Motor controller / Inverter / Regen / ABS - Vehicle Controller / Cluster / TCU - Harness / Connectors / Sensors / Switches / Panels / Lighting - Focus on cost, weight, efficiency and performance targets. - Benchmarking of competitor vehicles and identify key values/ specs for our product - Lead technical specification and support sourcing for all electrical components - Liaison with suppliers, OEMs and other partners for vehicle development - Simulation, Vehicle testing, evaluation of test reports, certification including the documentation for the same - Manage activities related to electrical owner/ service manual - Resolve quality issues reported from production/ field Experience & Skills : - Extensive management experience- has built teams and has managed managers - Previously has led automotive electrical and electronic development teams - Must have worked with automotive engineering service providers, OEMs and Tier 1s - Must have played an electrical leadership role in the development of an electric vehicle - Expert in EV systems - motor, motor controller, inverter, regen, BMS, etc. - Experience in Vehicle electrical integration/ ECU packaging - Expert in the electrical impact of all phases of vehicle development from kickoff to SOP - Expert in budgeting, schedule making, and development task monitoring. - Expert in automotive electronics systems; examples may include ADAS, cameras, infotainment - Knowledgeable in advanced vehicle networks, such as secure CAN and automotive Ethernet - Knowledgeable in SOTA/FOTA, remote diagnostics, and other connected vehicle services - Knowledge of automotive simulation (MIL/SIL/HIL) - Good knowledge of homologation requirements, for India and beyond, and ability architect into the design - Understanding of formal requirements management - Ability to define specification/ quality targets and review the same with suppliers - Skilled in supplier management from sourcing to mass production and running changes - Knowledge in manufacturing process and alignment of design as per that - QC tools - root cause investigation and resolution - Willing to get hands dirty, get the tasks done by all means possible - Ability to work autonomously - Excellent presentation skills Qualifications - Electrical Engineering degree from premier engineering college
