Location - Head Office, Kolkata
Experience - 20+ years of experience in mineral processing/material handling equipment/system engineering
Qualification - BE-Mechanical
The Head Engineering is responsible for leading and managing the engineering team of product vertical in the engineering department. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet the necessary technical, quality, and cost requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the product engineering team, including providing technical guidance, performance management, and professional development opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, and external customers to define product requirements and develop project plans
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for products, including 3D modelling, prototyping, and testing
- Review mechanical analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA), tolerance analysis, and failure analysis, to evaluate and improve the performance of mechanical systems and components
- Develop and maintain engineering standards and processes related to mechanical design and analysis
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure that products can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effectively
- Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations on the suitability of mechanical systems and components for the intended application
- Generate reports and technical documents to communicate results of mechanical analysis to internal stakeholders and customers
- Collaborate with quality teams to ensure that products meet applicable industry standards and regulations
Requirements:
- Adequate exposure and experience in selection/vetting the selection of the equipment pertaining to any specific application.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, including 3D modelling, computation/review of shaft design, drive selection, bearing selection, gear pinion loading and the equipment load data against any specific application.
- Have the past experience in computing / vetting the computation pertaining to the mass moment of inertia of the equipment assembly referred to the connected motor shaft.
- Basic knowledge in the material and manufacturing methods of the parts would be appreciated.
- Experience with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
- Basic experience in stress modelling of the equipment parts when needed.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and analysis
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Proficiency in the MS office suite is a must.
