Our client is the largest manufacturing company based out of Gurgaon with many dealers across India and exporting their products to SAARC countries.
As the Head - EHS, you will develop and implement the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Strategy for the company to ensure compliance with organizational & statutory specifications and standards. You will drive the creation of a conducive work environment and ensure the safety of all personnel in and around the plant.
What you will do:
Strategic Planning :
- Developing appropriate strategies to address/ incorporate the same at company factory and being compliant with the norms
- Leading the development and implementation of a EHS framework and Safety for the organization
- Formulating the working plan to minimize and accidents at the plant
Financial Controls :
- Developing the department budget and ensuring adherence to the same
- Assessing EHS risks at company factory
- Undertaking corrective action/precautionary measures to minimize potential costs
Process Excellence :
- Carrying out Safe Behaviors Surveys, audits and analyze the trend and formulate the plans to improve on the issues of concerns for good EHS management at company factory
- Involving and carrying out risk assessment of all activities which are conducted by company employees and contractors by involving the employees
- Carrying out fire safety & emergency preparedness drills and share the learning for improvement
- Devicing EHS promotional campaigns and involving all stake holders so that interest and motivation is high in EHS implementation across all levels
- Formulating campaigns to maintain employee awareness to requisite standards in managing risks and emergency actions
- Organizing and conducting training programs on EHS regulations and policies; Conducting practical demonstrations on the use of safety equipment
- Working closely with all internal departments to conduct mandatory safety committee meetings on a regular basis
- Analyzing EHS Performance and highlighting the areas for improvement and weak areas.
- Liaising with Plant Head, Head Process, Head - Maintenance & Head DIP to ensure adherence to statutory safety requirements by all workers & contract labor
- Ensuring emergency preparedness of the teams and providing vital EHS inputs during life threatening emergencies
- Liaising with Head Legal, CS & Compliance & ensuring legal compliances related to EHS for operations and maintenance activities
- Periodically liaising with government authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and for associated inspections at the project sites
- Continuously monitoring and inspecting pollution levels at the project sites; Managing effluent treatment plant (ETP) and ensuring effluents (solid, liquid and gas) are with in prescribed statutory limits
- Reviewing and analyzing accident investigation reports and monthly statistical reports; Recommending action plans to the projects team to prevent recurrence of such accidents
- Liaising with the administration department to ensure availability, maintenance and upkeep of safety related equipment as per safety norms on a regular basis
- Driving the maintenance of a database of all EHS notifications, inspection documents, certifications and other related documentation; Ensuring timely submission of all statutory documents to the concerned authorities
- Developing/ updating department SOPs & safety Manual; Leading the development of a framework for EHS inspections & certifications
- Representing the organization at various meets/conferences on EHS issues and project the accomplishments of the company in the field
People :
- Driving performance orientation through regular monitoring, review of performance parameters and providing feedback to team members
- Contributing towards the development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles
- Actively participating in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation
- Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent and competent authority.
Candidate Profile:
What you need to have: :
- Must have experience in wastewater treatment plant (for eg: An individual with experience in manufacturing of machines of wastewater treatment can be considered)
- Manufacturing industry (we can explore other industries, as well)
- BE/B.Tech is preffered
- However considering 10+ years of experience, we can look at Diploma/Degree holders if the profile & experience is rich in the said domain.
