ROLE

Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the diversity and inclusion strategy in Asia Pacific (APAC) and monitoring key performance indicators.

The successful candidate will have experience communicating and influencing particularly at the executive and senior levels of management along with deep and demonstrated expertise in diversity and inclusion.

The location for this role will be India (Banglore or Pune) with travel requirements to other APAC countries.

This role will report into the Chief Diversity and Inclusion officer for EMEA and APAC who is based in London.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Continuous development and implementation of the diversity and inclusion strategy for the APAC region utilizing internal feedback, external research and best practices to lead the execution of the diversity strategy for the region

- Proactive engagement with company staff and in particular senior and executive management to provide guidance in execution of the APAC D&I Strategy

- Embed D&I into companies day to day business practices and culture

- Consult and advise across Human Resources with an emphasis on collaborating and building relationships related to the D&I strategy

- Manage a regional budget

- Utilize metrics to monitor and track progress against the strategy

- Serve as the regional liaison, advisor and coach to the Business Resource Councils

- Support and guide the APAC and India Diversity Councils towards business ownership of initiatives

- Represent the organisation externally on business networks and forums

- Identify opportunities for thought leadership to represent the organisation in external forums

- Work with human resources and internal business leaders to position the organisation as an employer of choice for diversity and inclusion practices

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Excellent communication, listening, analytical, negotiation, and problem solving skills.

Highly flexible and adaptable to change (candidate will be required to travel based on need)

The ideal candidate for this role should have:

A College or University degree and/or graduate degree.

10+ years of work experience, with at least 3+ years diversity and inclusion experience

Experience in having worked for a global organisation, preferably finance or professional services

Experience in, and an understanding of the employment related regulatory/legal landscape across the APAC region as relates to equality

A reputation for providing effective, strategic leadership, sound judgment and decisiveness

Excellent client relationships with an ability to develop strong relationships across different businesses and cultures

Strong organisational, project management and execution skills along with an ability to prioritise and drive multiple initiatives and activities

A proven ability to influence, challenge, motivate and negotiate at all levels in order to gain buy-in and change mind sets

Exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and a demonstrated commitment to achieving successful outcomes in execution of a D&I strategy
