Designation: Head-Direct Taxation Location: Aurangabad (Maharashtra) Industry: Automobile/ Auto Ancillary POSITION PROFILE The position is responsible for planning, implementing and monitoring all direct tax related activities for the group. Responsibility includes handling all matters relating to Direct Taxation including statutory compliances, Tax Audits and Tax Planning. Other duties include estimation of Tax Provisions and compilation of various statutory returns. The position is also responsible for liaising with Income Tax Authorities / Tax Advisors, Tax Auditors and attending the assessments and appeals Key Responsibilities : 1. Compliance with Direct Taxation Laws 2. Tax Planning 3. Impact analyses on law changes Tax Planning and Systems : - Lead and coordinate the tax planning and tax management of assignments. - Assist CFO in financial structuring and other decisions having tax implication - Stay updated on changes in tax laws and case law developments, which may be relevant for planning & compliance - Coordinate reporting requirements to receive timely and accurate information from all the plants and businesses - Guide CFO and Leadership team on direct tax implications on various strategic decision including expansions and acquisitions Operations : - Perform a first level scrutiny of the forms for filing returns received from the regional accountants. - Coordinate towards payment of advance tax, filing of Return, Tax Audits, TDS compliance, employee taxation, issuance of certificates etc. for the whole organization - Ensure preparation of details of assessment Scrutiny cases, Appeals, Rectification and other matters Indicative Activities Skills/ Attributes Required : - Ensure preparation of detailed documents for assessment scrutiny cases for company and its subsidiaries within timelines - Ensure timely application for availing concessions in TDS rate - Oversee computation and correct reporting of tax charges and assets/liabilities in the Company financial statements under Indian as well as IFRS scenario. - Ensure correct accounting and reporting of charges, assets, and liabilities, in respect of both current and deferred tax, in the Company financial statements Compliance and Government Liaising : - Liaise with government authorities and tax consultants to facilitate operations by smooth tax management under guidance of Head - Corporate Finance - Fulfill statutory compliance under direct tax laws such as e-TDS/FBT returns - Ensure management of tax assessments and audits by timely collation of accurate information - Provide support in completing tax audit, timely and accurate payment of advance taxes, cross-border transfer pricing issues - Support statutory compliance and guide on issues regarding compliance concerning statutory, legal or governmental authorities, etc. - Ensure timely action is taken on appeals, and pursues effective resolution, compilation and spread work for the same
