Urgent Opening for Design Head role with a leading Retail Brand in Women Wear/ Mens wear/ Accessories. ( Ethnic/ Western/ Traditional Clothing)

Position/ Title : Head Design

Experience Required: 15 yrs plus

Function: B&M

No. of : Reportees: 6 --10,

Location: Mumbai.

Salary: upto 1 crore+ Variables.

Purpose (The reason why the job exists):

Fashion/clothing designers design clothes, in ethnic wear, western wear, mens wear accessories categories etc.

A detailed and informed awareness of national and international market, consumer and product trends to work with the Buyers to develop commercial looks and themes appropriate to the department

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

The most important end-results for which an incumbent would be held responsible at the end of the year.

- To ensure the development and designs of ranges for the private label. analysing trends in fabrics and colours

- Develop and institutionalize design processes to ensure the integration of designing with buying.

- Helping the buying team to increase the private level margin

- Track International fashion trends and forecasts and adopt them to suit shoppers stop customers

- Ensure quality of products is maintained at predetermined standards, overseeing production

- Responsible for setting design and merchandise strategy for private label brands for the Company based on tracking of changing consumer tastes

- Responsible for conceptualizing, developing and launching private label brands in various garment product categories

- Effectively manage the team of designers and motivate them to improve their performance

Relations

Internal :Retail, Visual Merchandising, B&M, Marketing

External : Vendors, Suppliers.

Educational Qualifications :

Minimum: Graduate/Diploma in Fashion designing

Desired : NIFT (Diploma or Degree in Fashion Designing),Pearl Academy of Fashion

Preferred Industry: Garment/Textile industry as Designer/Artist/Fashion designer/Export houses.
