Education : Ideal candidates would have qualification of Chartered Accountant (CA) from India. MBA in Finance will be preferred qualification

Location: Pune

Relationships : 

The position will report to Senior General Manager - Finance & Accounts - Truck, MHEL and CE.

- External Relationships include effective networking with financial institutions & banks, valuation experts, VCs, external auditors, government officials, finance groups experts, etc.

- Internal Relationships include President - Auto Sector, Auto Executive Council members, Principal Engineering Heads, Auto Sector Finance team, Auto sector HR team, X&Y senior leaders, Senior Executives and other division / function heads, corporate finance team, Secretarial team etc.

Key Responsibilities : 

- The selected candidate will provide overall strategic leadership and play a key role in improving the financial management capability of the business, with the priority objective of supporting strategic growth plan of the organization.

- S/he has to ensure that various initiatives pertaining to financial planning, budgeting, cost accounting, cash flow management, tax planning etc. are carried out in the organization conforming to the underlying corporate policies and procedures

3) S/he will be responsible for monitoring, reporting and forecasting business financials viz volumes, revenue, EBITDA, ROCE, BEP by analyzing budget assumptions v/s actual trends for discussion/ debate to senior management and to take timely corrective actions/ plans to achieve the objectives.


- S/he has to ensure timely & robust MIS to the management with suggestive comments on operations and cost optimization for achieving budgeted parameters and releasing alerts & exception reporting, thereby enabling appropriate and timely decision making.

- S/he will be responsible for Capex and Working Capital Management & fund management. Arranging for funds at competitive rates from banks.

- S/he should develop and ensure implementation of effective solutions leading to optimum cost of capital to ensure expected profitability of the organization.

- S/he will be responsible to put in place limits of authority in Capex and Operational expenditure. Should ensure controls of costs within budgets and planned expenditure - element of Controllership.

- S/he should improve financial and business controls including COSO compliance etc.

- S/he is responsible for smooth conduct of Board Meetings in coordination with M & M Secretarial department.

- S/he is responsible to drive enterprise risk management process and manage corporate governance process

- S/he is expected to manage and oversee statutory compliance and audit and ensure the timely and accurate filings of all the required statutory and tax reporting

- S/he will be responsible for Business Case evaluation for new projects and those relating to synergies with M&M Group.

- S/he is expected to effectively interface with Corporate Finance, Corporate taxation, Legal and Secretarial departments of X&Y Group on the key accounting and treasury issues

- S/he is expected to understand ever evolving expectations and requirements of internal and external auditors and based on the same facilitate development and implementation of a robust information management system to cater to all data needs.

 -S/he will develop improving knowledge and skills of accounts & finance department; focus on improving performance through effective team/program management, training and development; and help build an environment that continues to promote and reward excellence both at individual and team levels

Requirements : 

Functional Knowledge / Skills / Experience :

1) Strong experience - of 15-20 years + in business finance, preferably one stint in Auto industry.

2) Currently active in a senior or similar financial management position at a reputed organization with single or multiple businesses.

3) Experience in setting up a standard accounting systems and procedure with tight month end reporting deadlines

4) Knowledge of new developments in statutory compliance/new Accounting Standards

- Knowledge of IFRS and Indian Accounting Standards.

5) Comprehensive knowledge of SAP and other financial IT systems.

- Equal level of comfort and expertise in dealing with both business and people (relationship) issues.

6) Strong analytical skills; and innovative and collaborative approach to foster conducive & Harmonious relations with all stakeholders.

7) Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and motivate team members.
