Head - Data Science - eCommerce/Logistics - IIT/NIT/BITS

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership in the areas of machine learning and data sciences

- Identifying business problems that could be solved using Data Science and scoping it out end to end.

- Solve business problems by applying advanced Machine Learning algorithms and complex statistical models on large volumes of data.

- Innovate by adapting new modelling techniques and procedures.

- Evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques and develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

- Build, scale and deploy holistic data science products after successful prototyping.

- Clearly articulate and present recommendations to business partners, and influence future plans based on insights.

- Follow industry best practices, stay up to date with the state of the art in machine learning research and practice, drive innovation by contributing to the latest applied research in data science through publications and patents.

Requirements:

- B. Tech/Masters/PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or another quantitative field from a tier-1 engineering college

- 5-10 years of work experience in AI/ML domain with a proven ability to unearth solutions hidden in large datasets and drive business decisions with data-backed insights

- Proven experience in building/scaling data science function ground up

- Experience in machine learning techniques such as Regression, Classification, Predictive modelling, Clustering, Deep Learning stack, NLP

- Working knowledge of Tensorflow/PyTorch

- Experience with distributed computing frameworks: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Spark etc.

- Experience of working in rapidly growing/dynamic organizations, especially with VC and PE backed companies
