Head - Credit Risk - Early stage Fintech Startup

We are looking to hire a Head of Risk for one of our early stage portfolio company in the fintech space.

Location - Bangalore

Role fitment: We are looking to hire a credit & risk lead to join the core team and be part of crafting the credit & collections strategy of the company from scratch. The opportunity is to contribute beyond the functional role, and be an instrumental part of charting the growth path of a potentially large impactful organisation.

- Looking for someone with 5+ years of risk underwriting experience ideally in the unsecured personal loans segment (either in banks or NBFCs)

- Built new products and seen through growth cycles in the company while balancing NPAs

Should have a technology mindset to drive the right customer experience and enable collections / risk management at scale using automated processes

- Should have a view of collections and feed that intelligence into risk modelling and building new products

- Good analytical skills


- Setup the credit policy framework and credit process from scratch

- Team building - taking the lead in building a high quality data-driven credit team

- Owning the day-to-day execution of credit operations

- Experimentation - run multiple experiments for different customer segments and continually improve the risk framework

- Work closely with other teams to contribute to the overall business strategy

- Excellent problem solving skills - ability to think from first principles

- Intellectual honesty - always seeking and stating truth irrespective of personal beliefs

Should have :

- Drafted risk policies

- Credit underwriting

- Designed or understands how to build data scorecards

- Managed underwriting / operations teams
